Phil, I've recently bought one having considered it for some time. Personally I would hold out for your ideal spec, whilst you won't lose money whatever you buy, you may still find yourself admiring cars that come up for sale that have the bits you had on your wish list. I'd say be patient, the right car will come along but be quick when it does. I wanted the purist spec, buckets, spyder wheels, sports exhaust and ceramics - personally I don't see the point of loading up these cars with weight by adding in luxuries (inessentials but conducive to comfort) but I did come from Caterham's so even the base car feels luxurious! I love the DSG gearbox in my everyday car but the manual is a must in a spyder! in my opinion, to get the best driving challenge and satisfaction. These are all personal opinions, others will have different views but hopefully all comments will assist you in finding the right choice for you. Whatever spec you decide on, you won't regret buying a Spyder.ORIGINAL: philnotts99 Thank you for the replies. The only option i may of gone for is the buckets, where this one has the sports seats. I have driven a PDK spyder with the buckets. I did love it but i'm a manual type of guy!! I am thinking though that i could be waiting a long time for this type of spec again. Hopefully values will hold above 30k too. Phil
That seems cheap.ORIGINAL: MrDemon buckets are a must have for me in this car, but each to their own on spec. it's cheaper to buy one with no PSE and no sports mode and to add them than to buy a car with sports seats and add buckets. I thought the dick lovvett car looks a nice buy, nice low miles, then just add PSE,and a SS. http://www.dicklovett.co.uk/Dealers/Porsche/Used-Car-Details/Porsche-Boxster_Spyder-Carrara_White-2010-20188629.html
ORIGINAL: philnotts99 How much is it to add on the PSE,and a SS? And how much to add the buckets out of interest. Phil
All well and good , but there are only 3 cars like oursORIGINAL: DarrellWilsonPhil, I've recently bought one having considered it for some time. Hallelujah! [ORIGINAL: MrDemon ... but each to their own on spec.
When I bought mine, the dealer fitted PSE for nothing and also offered to swap the sports seats for buckets from a Cayman R, so you might be able to negotiate something.ORIGINAL: Steve Brown PSE is around £2k and SS around £400. You'd need to shop around a bit at OPC's to get the best price. I think buckets come in at around £6k!ORIGINAL: philnotts99 How much is it to add on the PSE,and a SS? Was your dealers name Santa Clause by any chance ?? New Page No New Pic! How many dealers today are likely to have a Spyder & R for swapping specs around now the cars have been out of production for several years already I think you could get the PSE & SC fitted for free providing you were paying the full asking price but the chairs will be impossible today unless you go Recaro Pole and get a better lighter bucket in "full leather" whilst retaining the sports seats for next owners who by the law of sod will want the seat you haven't got I recently sold a fatboy spec without any comment being made about wrong heated seats and the dealer moved it on in just 4 weeks 2 of which were Christmas holidays and 4 of which were cursed with the current Noah weather[ORIGINAL: homerdog When I bought mine, the dealer fitted PSE for nothing and also offered to swap the sports seats for buckets from a Cayman R, so you might be able to negotiate something.

Fairly sure it doesn't have either air con or Sat Nav though, even though it's advertised as having both.....ORIGINAL: rob.kellockThat seems cheap.ORIGINAL: MrDemon buckets are a must have for me in this car, but each to their own on spec. it's cheaper to buy one with no PSE and no sports mode and to add them than to buy a car with sports seats and add buckets. If the car could be bought for asking price but with PSE & SC included in the deal then it's a great buy On the other hand the other OPC car with wheels swapped for the Spyders is also a good deal with a cracking spec Hard call or wait for the next Spyder to pop up [ORIGINAL: philnotts99 The white Spyder at Swindon looks good but very low spec. Almost a pure spec. The mileage is good though. Was this anyone's car on here? Phil
You got a good deal. How long ago was that? There was a time a few years ago, before people had woken up to Spyders, that they were pretty hard to shift for OPC's that wanted a quick turnaround and they'd do what they had to do to shift them. I think there's mainly a subset of OPC's that actively source them now as some others haven't realised that the market has drastically changed. I doubt you'd get PSE for free today as they don't need to dent their margins today to shift them. Swapping seats costs them nothing and they may be willing but they're unlikely to have another 987 or 997 in stock with buckets these days. If I was an OPC i'd rather leave buckets in a Cayman R rather than swap those with sports seats to do a deal on a Spyder. I reckon an R with sports seats will be harder to shift than a Spyder with sports seats (though I have no evidence to back that up) so if I was a dealer with a Spyder & R in stock I wouldn't do the swap. As for the aftermarket options, in terms of keeping the car true to its authenticity, they wouldn't interest me at all, especially in a open car where the look has quite some importance to me and race looking seats in a roadster might look a bit pretentious, although the Recaro Pole is quite subtle.ORIGINAL: homerdog When I bought mine, the dealer fitted PSE for nothing and also offered to swap the sports seats for buckets from a Cayman R, so you might be able to negotiate something.

We have been saying that for past 12 months now They rarely pop up and when they do dealer cars seem to shift within the 30 day dream cycle they like so much providing the car is as described of course [&o][8D]ORIGINAL: philnotts99 http://www.dicklovett.co.uk/Dealers/Porsche/Used-Car-Details/Porsche-Boxster_Spyder-Carrara_White-2010-20188629.html Just sold!
