Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

I have driven the OPC Sutton Coldfield one but i'd want manual rather the PDK in the Spyder. Just wish the one that is left ( coming to market) had the buckets as this would be a perfect spec. Could be a long search. Who wants to sell haha! Phil

New Page New Pic The chase is almost as much fun as the ownership[:D] Bide your time and your desired manual with buckets will happen probably be a spate of cars once the spring has sprung [8D]

ORIGINAL: philnotts99 Can i ask why you didnt op for the buckets? I am guessing thats your very nice Spyder with sports seats? Thanks, Phil
Both my Spyder were bought used [&o] First was my traditional short shift manual and the 2nd was my bothers car he had owned from new but was selling at 1000 dry sunny miles (100 + done by me learning if I could live with pdk) So that's how I missed out on ever owning a Spyder with buckets [:)]

Phil, I'm based in the Midlands and assuming you're not that far away too if you've been to Sutton, then if you're interested in viewing my car just to help make comparisons then you're more than welcome. I'm also on a track day at Donington on Saturday 15th so you're welcome to come and have a look there too. Didn't realise my spec was so rare, given the insight from Mr D. must be worth more than I realised - £50k anyone [;)]

ORIGINAL: homerdog When I bought mine, the dealer fitted PSE for nothing and also offered to swap the sports seats for buckets from a Cayman R, so you might be able to negotiate something.
You got a good deal. How long ago was that?
It was July 2012, but of course you're right, the market was different then. Interestingly, my OPC salesman continues to say that he finds it harder to sell cars with buckets than those with sports seats. I suppose it's true to say that the Spyder has a strong appeal to buyers who prefer the lightweight ethos, even if it's probably almost impossible to tell the difference in practice (for ordinary mortals, at least! [;)] ). It doesn't mean that comfort spec Spyders don't appeal either though, as the market attests.

Not surprised very cheap, in the current market, and what seems to me like a great spec. I don't even think it had air-con which for me is a plus. Cars with this sort of mileage and spec are going to get hard to find and therefore harder to pay for. Like others I think it would be as well to have the buckets they are part of the cars overall character, however I am 6ft and of average build and I often wondered if one was shorter or heavier how they would suit.

Air con !!! What is going on with this Air Con thing. They are soft top cars and when the sun is out the cars come out with the tops off. What is the world of soft top drivers cumin to? Who knows, the 2015 must haves may include a flux capacitor

ORIGINAL: MrDemon I'll pop over to Donny , I live in Leicester,
Be good to meet up, hopefully we might have a break from the hurricanes and monsoons - combining that with the aviation fuel that gets dropped onto the circuit, it should make for an exciting drive. [:D]
