[] Catch think of a better car for going convoy cruising. Always a novelty to see what a Spyder looks like on the move from the rear. Reminds me why people stop and stare []ORIGINAL: rob.kellock If the weather stays like this I am tempted to bunk off this afternoon and go for a drive - flat6 what are you up to? [] Will see how I get on at court this morning...
Top job VroomM[]ORIGINAL: VvrooomM A few pics post clean....
Just googled it. Oh dear, can't see that one getting signed off for production[&o]ORIGINAL: VvrooomM Please tell me nobody liked that Alfa Disco Volante on Top Gear - it was hideous!!
Top work on the exhausts, mine is far from perfect there!ORIGINAL: flat6 Top job VroomM[]
Didn't exactly roll out the red carpet for such an iconic vehicle that probably is the most expensive Porsche in the world today[&o] A 1955 Porsche 550/1500 RS Spyder sold for an amazing $3.685 million at yesterday afternoon's Gooding & Co. Amelia Island auction setting a new record price for a Porsche 550.P This beautifully restored example of Porsche's legendary air-cooled race car was advertised as "one of the most genuine 550s in existence". It was clear at least two bidders agreed when the car was hammered sold for $3.35 million dollars ($3.685 million with buyer's fees).P This record sale price certainly means somewhere there is an ecstatic former vintage Porsche owner considering the pre-auction estimate for this 550 Spyder was $2.2-$2.6 million.PORIGINAL: MrDemon they have done a 986 550 Spyder already to quote "In 2004 Porsche built 1953 limited edition Boxster's to commemorate the 1953 Porsche 550 Spyder. "
Do you not think something as iconic as the 550 Spyder shouldn't have something equally iconic for it's 50th[8D]ORIGINAL: MrDemon but they are starting to run out of ed to do cars after as we had the RS60 also. can you "commemorate" a car twice !
I can't tell you that, as I did actually like it [] Saw it at Geneva last year, and although some angles weren't great, others were nice. I also quite like the concept of coachbuilt cars - a bit like some of the work Eagle do on E Types.

Last Saturday I did call into see the 46k car at Cambridge PC. I spoke to one of the sales guys Michael Cornwell who showed me the car which had only arrived on Friday and was awaiting prep prior to going on show. Looks from the plate the car came from Leicester PC. Nothing much more to report other than it is on SOR It didn't look like at 46K car when I saw it but no doubt once it has been cleaned and the cloth cap is off it will look a million dollars just like the rest of em. Interested ring Mike on 01223 872872.

Maybe explains the high price (SOR). Its true value is probably 42k-44k max. Phil
If the owner really wants to sell it then true value has to be circa £39995.00 via the OPC with 2 year warrantyORIGINAL: philnotts99 Maybe explains the high price (SOR). Its true value is probably 42k-44k max. Phil
New Spyder to market on Autotrader? I've not noticed it before. White, spyder wheels, manual, £35k, less than average mileage (not for Spyders).......all was looking good Phil but the wrong seats for you!!

Yes its new. No buckets and high miles really. Also where is the spec in the description lol! http://bit.ly/1hSBywc - Spyder link I am seriously considering buying one with sports seats and just paying the 6k for the buckets and be done with it! haha. Phil
Must have used the olds pics - odo says 26k, advert says 31k.ORIGINAL: DarrellWilson New Spyder to market on Autotrader? I've not noticed it before. White, spyder wheels, manual, £35k, less than average mileage (not for Spyders).......all was looking good Phil but the wrong seats for you!!
I can't believe that Trading Standards let them keep that name. Approved Used is just a little misleading and in a very "manufacturer" serious font too. Represents good value compared to the Cambridge car I think, bet it drives just like one with a fraction of the mileage. Phil, hang in there - the right spec car is bound to crop up. You'll never get your money back if you buy an extra set of buckets for you car and you're always going to want them even though the sports seat is a good seat and available heated.
Phil should get at least 1/2 his money back by selling the car with the hot chairs back in situ and ebaying the buckets to the next must have buckets man[]ORIGINAL: rob.kellock Phil, hang in there - the right spec car is bound to crop up.
