Probably is and I think back then before being repaired it was low 20's [&o] With plenty of cars out there for a few thousand £'s more that haven't got the Cat D option I think it won't be selling quickly and with the wrong chairs what more can one say [][][]

2.0L V4 Turbo motor how long before we see a similar spec i.e. 2.0L 4 pot Turbo in a 981/991![:D][&o] Greg Kable by Greg Kable 4 March 2014 7:27am Porsche has officially unveiled its 2014 World Endurance Championship contender, the 919 Hybrid, at the Geneva motor show. The new petrol-electric hybrid powered prototype has been constructed to the latest LMP1 regulations, which stipulate the car must not exceed 4650mm in length, 1900mm in width and 1050mm in height and boast a minimum weight of 870kg. Described as the most complex Porsche race car ever, the 919 Hybrid is powered by a newly developed single turbocharged 2.0-litre V4 direct injection petrol engine that forms a load bearing function within the chassis. It is claimed to rev to 9000rpm and drives the rear wheels. The combustion engine is supported by an electric motor mounted within the front axle and lithium-ion battery. They provide drive to the front wheels when activated, giving the 919 Hybrid temporary four-wheel drive capability. Porsche’s latest race car, which will return the company to the premiere class of the Le Mans 24 Hour race in June, boasts two different energy recovery systems, including brake energy recuperation and an innovative thermal energy recovery system housed within the exhaust system. Porsche’s engineers have developed the 919 Hybrid with an 8 megajoule per lap energy recovery boost function, the maximum permitted under the latest LMP1 regulations. This provides it with a maximum available fuel load of 4.64 litres per lap at Le Mans. Porsche claims the 919 Hybrid has undergone over 2000 hours of wind tunnel testing both at the company’s new wind tunnel facility in Weissach and at the University of Stuttgart. Among the drivers assembled by Porsche for its two strong 919 Hybrid assault on the 2014 World Endurance Championship is former Red Bull F1 driver, Mark Webber. The 37-year-old Australian will be partnered in one car by 24-year New Zealander Brendon Hartley and 30-year-old Swiss Neel Jani. The second car will be piloted by a more experienced sportscar trio, including 33 year old Germans Timo Bernhard and Marc Lieb together with 36 year old French ace Romain Dumas.

It's the same colour and has the same wheels - but for some reason I recall that it used to have the side-stripes? If they got it for under £20k then I suppose there is a profit in it at £30k.... EDIT - found the original discussion (page 288) including this pic:

Good find Mark and if someone wanted a cheap lightly damaged Spyder this one looks like it could be worth a tickle. Whilst I wouldn't buy a Cat D personally I do know people who have done when they had seen how lightly damaged the said car was before repairs A decent body shop could make it as good as new

Good find Billy and the missing side stripe is probably because to replace the front 1/4 panels you still have to buy the complete kit which is circa £400 plus from Porsche so cheaper option remove the stripe completely[]

If he went to my man Roy www.porschedecalshop.com he would have got a set for £50[;)] The damage looks not to bad but not at that price .He could make a few £££ by selling or swooping the Buckets and Wheels [;)]

Can't see the point here unless it's cheap say circa low - mid £20k's It's a private seller so a mint example would fetch what today £33k but Cat D has to be 25% plus less [&o][&o]

how many times FFS !!!! cars like this don't have a retail or private price. I would not sell mine cheaper than a 3rd party dealer, and have not done with my last few cars. a dealer offers nothing for a ltd ed car over a private seller, in fact I would rather buy private and see who the last owner was. NO 3rd party dealer offers a good 2 year warranty or can put a Porsche one on even !!!!! so far safer buying private and you can also then have a puka 2 year Porsche warranty buying private if you factor that in the deal !!!! Porsche have really screwed 3rd party Porsche dealers regarding warranty transfer and also now doing cheaper servicing for older cars to also hit 3rd party service costs. A rare car has a market value who ever is selling it.

Well, there is the small matter of the Sale of Goods Act and the protection afforded therein. And easier access to finance. And over revs - the reputable indies check for those on Porsches these days. And general absence of scammers. And mileage / running hours provenance checks. And HPI checks. And convenience of part exchange facilities. It's like, what did the Romans ever do for us? FFS [:D]

Of course they do. You'd need to get into the realms of the super expensive or super rare for there to be no difference. If you are selling, you may not wish to deal with the general public and will therefore sell for a trade price which will be lower than a retail price to reflect the increased convenience and security and, ergo, the smaller market. That will be lower than the price you are likely to have been able to achieve privately. If you are buying, want some security, want to part-ex, or want finance, you're more likely to buy from a dealer and pay a premium over a private sale to do so. Certainly should you want a very specific car then you may have no choice as to where you buy it from (nor, indeed, the price you pay). The Spyder simply isn't that rare. Obviously we all know that you could get £42k tomorrow and wouldn't sell for less than £45k anyway. Presumably if your income fell or you became ill or you required funds in 24 hrs you might change your mind and price.

read my post please, all cars have a trade price, if some one wants to offload at trade that's their choice, If I needed the money tomorrow I would have to take a trade price on it. that price has nothing to do with private sale and a dealer sale price which as I said on a car like this bears no difference. as for security buying from a dealer lol you got to be kidding right, most dealers buy over the phone unseen , if they buy a Lemon they will resell that lemon. every one I know who has had issues with cars part ex's them , it's a great get out on a car with issues. I have walked away from more dealer cars than private cars I can tell you after now owning over 50+

V6 manual and I would put my deposit down today, as I have had enough of the Porsche bullshit train of late. over revs, N spec tyres, cannot fit a Bosche battery, 200% costs for a service, £150 for oil, etc etc and now GT3's catching fire or spinning in a straight line at 50 mph. I will prob get the mk3 TTRS from Audi when launched, my 2010 420 BHP TTRS was great inside, great build and that 5 pot engine is to die for. I could also fit what tyres I wished with out issue.
