Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

We can agree to disagree on that as the cars are too rare and immature to make the prediction an exact science [:)] Thanks. I started off in no hurry to decide what to do next but momentum is gathering in my decision making[:)]

ORIGINAL: rob.kellock Exciting times for sure... If you buy a 911 you'll miss being the centre of the vibe on here...
For sure[:eek:] I'd probably witter on about my 911 on here until being told to buzz off to the 997 register[&o]
You have got us all wrong we would't tell you to BUZZ off .we would use stronger words [:D][:D][:D]
:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: I'm tempted to test out the theory[:D][:D][:D][:D] Here's a starter lol! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9J91fWJTN90
No one one here is going to chase you Flat6! However, your youtube clip is that colour again! I can see Daro joining you[;)]

Well it seems my roof stayed on at 137 around spa as it was wet :) Just thought I let you know as I normally keep it under 124mph

I think the 124 mph is the guaranteed safety margin after that you are on your own [:D] How did the Spyder feel around a wet Spa! Any pics for the forum[;)]

never met a happy turbo owner, yes they are happy for a few months , but after the speed the car seems not to offer any thing. puts me off buying one even though I want one. then at the back of your mind you always think for 50k the GTR is better in every way. every one just says dull, inc. the engine noise. saying that I loved the performance in my TTRS and that made the car, it was faster than a 911 turbo though and miles nicer inside than the gen 1 turbo's, plus a sleeper, no one knew the speed of them, and that was always fun esp racing and beating Supersports bikes in the 600cc range. I do miss a bit of turbo power now and again.

Ask the other half for the keys to her turbo [:D] Funnily enough my one and only drive in a 997 Gen 1 Turbo didn't do it for me when poodling around and not abusing the awesome power but it was a brief encounter so wouldn't want my 30 minutes to influence flat6 with his itch but my 90 minutes plus in the 991 Turbo S was an entirely different experience a real thrill from the get go and this model did have a sound track befitting the drama[;)]

Maybe I'm getting old and sensitive! Mine was due to be with an OPC today for a major service and tyres but after a number of phone calls yesterday I was given no choice but to cancel and postpone until next week due to them having no courtesy cars or any time to collect it. What annoys me is that this was booked over three weeks ago and that ive taken time off work to sort both the Elise and Spyder in one day. I feel like I was bamboozled into the decision, they really didn't care that it was an inconvenience or would be difficult to sort next week, he just wanted me gone off his books. I certainly don't feel like giving them £1,700 next week! I do understand situations arise but I expected more of a service especially considering the money spent. Slight rant over.

That's not good especially as you booked it so far in advance. It once happened to me where I turned up with my car and was only then told that thye didn't have a courtesy car despite me booking one. I said all you had to do was phone me so I could decide not to come in. They got someone to drop me home but ideally I needed a car whilst mine was in. Also I didn't want them driving mine back to me (i'm funny like that, plus I would also rather see my car on their premises before being willing to accept it). Had to get the wife to drop me back to collect it though that was my choice. I work with 3 OPC's so don't try to guess which one it is. I suspect they were going to loan you a 981 and then a very keen customer for a brand new car needed to test drive one before signing on the dotted line and you got gazumped. Or the customer has had it on a 48hr test drive and they've booked it to you back to back but the customer is still out taking liberties with it[&o]

This is what happens when sales are booming, customers are as common as muck [:D] and the service department is packed out with more work than ever since the great CRASH of 2008 kicked in History repeating itself at your OPC have seen it too many times before when we had the good old boom bust boom bust economy once famously claimed as banished to the economic history books by one Gordon Brown[:eek:] whenever we were booming service became non existent and when we were bust it was all bending over backwards to please at prices that would even make a good indi wince Imagine how things are going to be once we have the new truck jamming up the forecourts and service bays [:D]

Depends what you want out of a car. If a particular car delivers what you want its all good[:)] A GTR is faster than a lot of cars that cost more... People who like British sports cars like, Noble, Morgan etc. will not buy a GTR no matter how fast it is. So many people buy the wrong car and soon after get disappointed with it. I've yet to buy a car that hasn't lived up to expectations. Though that doesn't mean I don't get a new desire after a couple of years and go after something else. Funnily enough, the GTR is a car that captured my interest for some time when it first came out but over time I see it more as a very large and heavy car that I think I wouldn't enjoy unless driving it at 10/10ths where it's trickery excels. But it seems to be so optimised one way that I wouldn't enjoy just driving at normal speeds on the roads. I feel the Porsche will be more versatile in that regard. I also feel that i'd have to take them to the track to split them so any performance advantage of the Nissan I wouldn't unlock on a daily basis.

A GTR is one of those cars that on paper should be of interest to me, but in reality I'd never want to own one. The worst part of owning a Spyder is trying to decide what to replace it with....

Is there anyone on here taking their cars to Gawsworth hall this year (5th May). I have been there in the past with my Caterham and my Morgan. Quite a good turn out of clasic cars there.
