Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

ORIGINAL: philnotts99 So are we saying it's 1,2,3k over priced? Phil
no pse no chrono no shortshift no pcm/phone module so very low spec(£5k of extras) and also an earlycar.but this does not make it a bad car just maybe over priced or may be the better specd/newer cars that have sold recently for similar money have been under priced!

Have you got yours?

Re the 555 Spyder for Sale. If you have a nice to have and a must have list and this car ticks all your must have list then this cars for you! Hope that makes sense. Price as ever is run by demand! Or greed in some cases. However, if they have had the car for some time and you have the cash then make them an offer! But don't do that if it does not tick all your must have boxes, your car is yet to be advertised.[;)] Some time ago we discussed on here what we thought were the must haves for a Spyder, that can be found some pages back. Of course everyone had a different list of must haves but the answers were collated to give what we thought were the essentials must haves. So in theory a Spyder with what most of us voted for with the must haves, priced correctly wont hang around in the market for too long. I think that has been borne out by some of the sales that have taken place in 2014.[;)]

Thank you for the replies so far. What's throwing me is that the car is in excellent condition and has the long opc warranty with the major service being done. Ok it hasn't got the pse, short shift or a/c that I'd want but the first two can be retro fitted. Something is telling me the top 555 car is about 2k over priced. Decisions decisions......

Its pretty simple then - hold you fire. You have the money, be ready to travel, your car will come to the market! You just need to be on the ball ready to pounce. Make usre you are the first to know when something comes up, set up your searches and alarms! Enjoy the search, its the first step to ownership. I had to wait - almost six months. Then one came my way that even exceeded my must have and nice to have lists. I was in such a rush to see it I even got a speeding ticket en-route to view it![]

Trying to find that happy medium against the dealer prices. Due to spec and warranty and new tyres, I'm going to suggest. £37,995 with a little wriggle room unless the experience on here advises otherwise. Thoughts?

Think that is about right. Low mileage, OPC warranty, most of the bits people want on them. Doubt you will have to wriggle much more than a couple of hundred pounds if you put that on Pistonheads (if at all).

Could be buyers want the car light weight as intended. Might be wrong but it could be over time the cars, unlike GT cars, will not be as attractive with heavy extras.

ORIGINAL: philnotts99 The black Spyder looks very nice but i need a manual Spyder in white or red [:D] Thanks, Phil
Just in case you didn't already know the Spyder came in two blacks which are quite different when you are beside them. Solid black and Basalt black metallic.

Discussion point? Just one OPC car left but why wont it sell? Low mileage, good spec, fairly priced today for such an OPC car with 2 years warranty. Is it because it it black? Is it because it is too dark - black body, black wheels, black interior? I've now warmed to the 'black on black on black' Spyder and think they look pretty cool (though my preferred colours on a Spyder are white, red, blue, then black, in that order). Is it the lack of PSE? It's not the sports seats as there are plenty who want those and plenty who don't care which seat (and plenty too who want buckets of course!). It has climate control which is often a must-have alongside sports seats in a comfort spec. It's not the transmission [:)] What say you?

Am guessing the colour. There must be a lot of people out there, me included, who will say "never again" although in my case I would choose black over Lapis blue which gets swirl marks just by looking at it!

Difficult to say but having seen it several times in the flesh it doesn't have that "I want it now" factor that almost every other Spyder I've seen has [:D] I think it's the fact there's too much black ,but it also doesn't give off that well looked after feeling . Now the white one at 911 virgin I drooled over on Saturday -but sold already!!
