new 981 Spyder will steer and brake it's self, some of you guys will love it :p As the new Merc already parks for you, keeps a safe distance to the car in front and just about drives it's self. ENJOY MANUAL NOW WHILE YOU STILL CAN IT WILL BE GONE IN A FEW YEARS. Manual GT3 and Spyders and R will rocket in price then when Porsche go the way of Ferrari and pull manuals from their line up. saying that PDK did not help the new Clio Sport which has gone form the best small hot hatch to the worst with sales down by more than triple to a point where Renult have said they might have to make a Manual Clio sport ;-) I wonder if the new R will be PDK only, it could well be as it's 3 or 4 years away.

ps if you want to go fast just buy one of these http://youtu.be/pwyF8NGBrIs this car is mind blowing fast.

Not to people with passion correct :) 964’s and gt3 go for a price for a reason in 2014 :) All I see is people bailing out PDK cars to buy the next latest and greatest new model, no surprise to me though. When you have to switch off half your body and only need 1 leg to drive a PDK car it's stands to reason the cars are not keepers.

12 months ago April 2013 there were 8 Spyders for sale today we have just THREE! Prices have risen whilst the latest and greatest Boxster to date has fallen f a s t [&o] May 2013 the market got absolutely flooded for the first time in ages and it never happened again once the SIXTEEN Spyders finally found new homes Will history be repeating itself in 14 days from now [:D] In June 2013 the white/Red/PDK example for sale this morning at 7850 miles £42495 was for sale back then at 7020 miles £43990[] So this one example has actually fallen in price Grab a bargain whilst you can[:D]

I have plenty of passion for porsche's, having owned them since 1987 ( all manuals) untill buying a spyder, and don't find the pdk a passion killer in the slightest, I think it adds a lot to the overall driving experience in the real world. You may prefer a manual, like a lot of die hard enthusiasts, but my mind was open to the new technology and I love it.

Having owned 11 Porsche's since 1978 all manual my mind was very closed to PDK after several short test drives I decided it wasn't for me especially as it was another £3k with Sports chrono a must have option with PDK just like the paddle shift is too IMO Having test driven my current Spyder(Porsche No.12) for 100 miles I realised this gearbox bought an entirely new driving experience with as much passion correct feelings to make the change to the paddle shifter and hand on paddles I can confirm I have zero regret and would add my next Porsche would definitely be a PDK if my licence can stand it of course I think having a manual daily driver has made the switch possible with zero regrets and had I not had access to a manual then I probably would never have given the PDK a look in [] (driven 100% manual 24/7 and often in sport mode) One thing which does concern me and makes a far more logical argument "against" PDK type boxes is their very complex engineering and potential future expenses say 10 years down the road. A PDK owning friend had a free loan of an F Type V8 and he confirmed that the very simple (compared to a dual clutch system) 8 speed auto in manual mode replicated a dual clutch set up identically and now these modern high tech auto's are so good and weigh half as much as a dual clutch set up surely they have possibly made PDK very complex technology somewhat redundant or am I missing something [&o]

The PDK vs manual debate will go round and around. What I don't understand though is why the die-hard manual fans proclaim that it is better because is it more of a challenge and by virtue, less optimised, in a high performance car[&:]. It's a bit like saying: "When I were a lad I used to walk 10 miles to school barefoot and on the way home stop off to buy 30Kg of coal and carry it on my head the 10 miles home barefoot. Nowadays the kids catch the bus to school which is less involving and for wimps."[:D] I think there are retro car manufacturers to cater for nostalgia. Try a Jensen Interceptor[:)]. Whilst i'm not shouting for or against PDK, when it comes to performance cars it's all progress. Do anti-lock brakes take the fun out of braking, power steering take the fun out of steering, AWD take the fun out of lairy understeer / oversteer moments, turbos take the fun out of chasing around the gear rations for some torque. The list goes on; each to their own, for some progress is good, for others it is not - just make your choice[:)] Also, if a car company stops selling a certain mechanism because their research shows them that people aren't buying it, they'll have no interest in keeping the die-hards happy who are only buying used cars. Or in the case of the 991 GT3, if their research leads them to believe that if they offer the choice of PDK and manual (despite all previous GT3s being manual only and selling well) and they expect the manual version to be vastly out-sold by the PDK version, why should they bother?(I actually think they didn't bother with manual on the 991 GT3 because it didn't make sense compromising the design to cater for both when they could optimise it for the one that is the basis for the future.)

I think the GT3 is a PDK only to widen its appeal, help explore it's talents to a higher degree by the talent challenged owners[:D] and if it is good enough for the likes of Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Bugatti and Maserati to only offer paddle shifters the main game in town has obviously moved on from a 3 pedal car to a twin paddle alternative [:)] Even the moaning TG threesome no longer bang on about flappy paddles this that or the other :ROFLMAO: Just back from a photo shoot with a friend trying out his new Leica camera and my Spyder was the model[8D]

I have a better one for sale, better spec and better value for money, warranty till Jan 2016. I was interested in a car that Top 555 had for sale but was not impressed with the trade in price for my Spider so took it no further. Please email me if interested. Kenny Spyder

Market price currently for the dream combination - ultra low mileage, Carrara white, manual, buckets, Spyder alloys. Sports button and exhaust can be retro fitted. What's all this techno-babble above? You PDK boys trying to persuade yourselves something? [:D][:D][:D] You don't see me and John banging on about how good the manual box is - coz you all know already!!
