There's too few cars out there for a solid value to be ascertained. No doubt some people bought the 'wrong' car and have offloaded it as a part-ex at a giveaway price as the dealer tells them that Spyders can't be shifted like standard Boxsters (and then make a tidy profit) (how did that Spyder end up at a Bentley dealership[&:]). On the other hand there are some cars for sale at higher prices (The 2 OPC Spyders at £39,850 sold almost instantly and have left behind the 2 cars at £37-38K that have been there a while). Also, whether those dealers with higher priced cars are commanding higher profit margins, or they took on the car at a higher trade value is anyone's guess (as is what they actually sold the car for). Last year most cars were moving around with <4000 miles. The market seems yet to settle down on these cars that are now coming with higher mileage. Or, maybe it's something else. Still, Boxster Spyder is still cheap at twice the price and the value doesn't matter to me as I aint letting it go[]

I can't believe there's still Spyder reviews that I haven't seen[] Stumbled across this whilst looking for good images. OK, it doesn't tell us much we don't know but, I didn't know in Australia it got a slightly more comfort spec:

hi Robert as you know p/xed my SpYder for a Spider and I don't mind admitting that pound for pound the SpYder is epic, it is probably more of a sports car than the 430 and very much feels wrapped around you like the 911's of old, also very quick over A and B roads, and rarely for a Porsche well liked in my experience by the non-Porsche fraternity as they play guess the car, all in all a joy to drive espesh with the must have sports zorst the 430 is about the engine it is pretty epic and the Ferrari wail which is intoxicating but it is advisable to invest in Shell shares if your right foot is heavy! the 430 handles very well and has a very neutral feel to it and the F1 gearbox is spot on for the car (quite old tech now but I read somewhere that the 430 was designed from scratch with the F1 gearbox in mind) having been used to German efficiency the Italians seem to adopt more of a manana approach to rectifying niggles, I have been told that this is par for the course and that the QC could be improved upon. My car is black and has overall received generally positive feedback from the general public although as with most convertible drivers I have experienced 2 nescafe shake gestures (none in the SpYder and 1 in the GT3 RS bizarrely) I have only had the 430 on the road for 3 months (july-Sept) so am looking forward as I am sure all of us rag top drivers are for the good weather (fingers crossed) when I hope to be able to bond with the 430 and if not return to the Porsche side. PS outside of events I still didn't come across 1 SpYder in my 7500 miles of pleasure, a real hidden treasure! Very interesting insight, the Porsche comes out quite well for a little Boxster! I am having a little warranty job done tomorrow and OPC Bolton are kindly lending me a 981 in the morning for a couple of days. Will let the Spydermen know how I get on!
