Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

Pic 8 in the ad. The plastic cover next to the driver's seat, adjacent to where the rear screen slots in, doesn't look straight. It should run level alongside the black bit on the body where the rear screen slots in. Might just be a bracket.

Phil, the two cars offered up for sale privately on PH gassing no good for you, they seem to match your spec? Anyone else looking for a Spyder, worth checking out the thread on PH as there's sellers who haven't yet advertised.

Looks to me that DS240 could be tempted to part if a serious offer was put in? That was my experience, owners really don't want to part with what is a fabulous car, their hearts are telling them not to but reality kicks in once they receive a serious offer and their heads take over - it's a market where you have to get on the front foot to get a good deal when you spot the right spec.

[/img] Just for the record - I'm changing gears myself too.

Welcome Matt[:)] For those who don't know you, including myself, you'll need to tell us a bit more. You have a Spyder I take [PDK or manual] and changing to another Spyder with alternative transmission? And what would be your reasons for changing? [:)]

Just to be clear Phil, I'm not aiming to do that car down so badly and put you off. With a buyer's hat on, the aim is to chip away at the price on any angle where that may be possible. With a seller's hat on, the car may be worth a bit more, but its up to the seller to justify that and in particular for a private seller so that the buyer feels reassured that its worth stepping away from a dealer purchase. If you ask Spyder owners what a Spyder on sale is worth, a Spyderman will first need to separate themselves from what they would want for their own car if they were selling it and what might be the effect on the value of their own car by their answer. Will be interesting to see what others think you should pay for it...

Sellers market imo, but at this value you need to put a 111 check and porsche warranty on it. Remember a 3rd party dealer cannot sell a car over 3 years old with a Porsche warranty nor put one on a car they have for sale. A private seller can :) All cars advertised with Porsche warranty are normally sor but always check it's a sor and not a dealer sale. If I were selling I would price mine above a 3rd party dealer, but it would have a full Porsche inspection and full porsche warranty. It would have to be priced 1k less than a OPC car of the same spec, but with Spyders OPC don't have any cars . So price high and see what happens.

You could also take the view that for the sake of worrying about couple of thousand pounds and the odd mark here and there on a used car you could instead be enjoying owning and driving one. Had I been looking and really loved the red, wanted buckets etc, that car would of been at home with me within the week. Limited supply, you can't buy a new one, the one in question has very low mileage. Probably would gone to have a look at it with a view to leaving a deposit on the spot if I could get the owner to put it through the 111 check add add the 2-year OPC warranty within the price. No idea if the seller would agree to it but that's what I would have done. If you want one, then what is the point in fucking about? [:)]

Correct. I wonder if there is another example in the UK!

They are really lovely. Nice touch.
Thanks .... They really bespoke and lift the interior a bit like the full leather does over standard Porsche plastics. It was a very expensive option but fortunately I didn't originally stump up for them [:D] £881.00[]

does make it look like a 2+2 though for tiny people ;-) maybe we should swap roll hoops to lessen the effect.
