I have a manual Spyder and was just really adding to the post earlier about owners who have manual or PDK. I noticed my car wasn't on the list so it might be useful to know that there is another manual car dotting around. I consider myself someone who really enjoys driving, and as a result I couldn't really consider the PDK, although I do think it is a fantastic thing. My everyday car has an auto (with paddles) and I really wanted to differentiate to the fun cars that i drive on the weekends, or purely for fun.ORIGINAL: flat6 Welcome Matt[] For those who don't know you, including myself, you'll need to tell us a bit more. You have a Spyder I take [PDK or manual] and changing to another Spyder with alternative transmission? And what would be your reasons for changing? []

A different subject. As this is relevant to Spyder & R owners does anyone find the flimsy door pulls hard to open the doors or is it just me. Maybe I am used to handles on my previous Porsches and as mine locks the doors after 5mph it requires a double tug plus a push to open the doors. To be honest they feel flimsy and I might consider getting some handles in the future if i cant get to grips with the pulls. After all they are not going to add anyweight and I can have the handles any colour. I assume its just a simple attachment for fitting handles? Any thoughts. Cheers Cliff.
I find the double tug the most annoying feature[]same on my Mini. Once tugged the door pops opens with no extra effort required but I am topless 24/7 unlike your "R" hence may be you tugging & pushing to exitORIGINAL: CLIFFWILKINS A different subject. I always press the centre lock button on the dash, then it's one pull on the strap. you soon just do it as habit. again in the mini I press the lock switch 1st. but yes very annoying when you forget and tug it once and nothing happens 1 tug should be enough for any one
don't forget Ferrari LaFerrari embargo has lifted for the A list press so all the reviews are out now nice to look at a few reviews and vids. http://youtu.be/9fKepcm5hm4 http://youtu.be/dLpWKcdfFtk http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-video/video-laferrari-maranellos-new-950bhp-masterpiece-reviewed
There sales criteria to get one is second to none and guaranteed to make the 499 an immediate investment where as the other 2 candidates will have to suffer many years of depreciation before turning the corner and start heading North where La Ferrari will spend all of its life [] You can’t unfortunately because A) all 499 cars are now sold out and B) you might well have struggled to match Ferrari’s strict critieria for ownership in the first place. If you wanted to buy a LaFerrari then you needed to have bought a minimum of two recent Ferraris via the dealer network from new, and have owned six in total in the last 10 years, and ideally never have speculated on any of themORIGINAL: MrDemon don't forget Ferrari LaFerrari embargo has lifted for the A list press so all the reviews are out now nice to look at a few reviews and vids. http://youtu.be/9fKepcm5hm4 http://youtu.be/dLpWKcdfFtk
Good call Mr D I will try pressing the lock button.
Go for it boys! Looks like this will be a really well attended event. Just been looking at the email from Club HQ and you will all be getting the full red carpet treatment from Cornbury House. Weather forecast has improved too from earlier in the week.

ORIGINAL: philnotts99There is a great deal of desire for a OPC warranty, I am not sure it is as important as it is perceived to be. Most of these cars have a small mileage and while someone will need it I am not aware of any of the guys on here having problems. Maybe I am tempting fate but low mileage recent Porsches don't usually give trouble, the odds must be at least 100 to 1. The question is, I suppose is, what odds, if any, you are prepared to accept bearing in mind a car without the warranty should be at least 2k cheaper.ORIGINAL: DarrellWilsonHaha point taken.. Watch this space i guess haha! PhilORIGINAL: tyinskyWe'll said []ORIGINAL:......... If you want one, then what is the point in fucking about? []
I am very happy with my suncap as it stays exactly where Porsche suggested it stays in the roof well 24/7 [8D]ORIGINAL: tyinsky The door handles are utter shit to use but I like the way they look. No way I would change them for regular handles. Bit like the crappy roof. Utterly awful useability, terrible wind noise, but it looks very cool so I'm happy. What is the Buggati thing?
[link]http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=813015&mpage=1&key=%F3%86%9F%97[/link] Joint meeting, PCGB and Bugatti Club plus visit to Prescott this Sunday. On a separate note, just washed mine, clay bar, washed it, Zymol wax. Bit of tyre dressing, brasso on the exhaust (permanently corroded now I fear). Set off for a quick 10 miles to dry the brakes - range went from 300 to 240 but only managed the 10 miles []. Microfibred the bits off it, cleaned the glass properly and put it away again. New tax disc today, MOT due along with service and warranty renewal if I go for it all by 23rd. Zero warranty claims this year. Engines clearly robust. My only claim to date was for the cooling fan which was coming on full on for no reason all the time. That was 2 years ago. I had endless problems with the fuel gauge but that was after I had cruise retro fitted. Turns out I had the long range fuel tank which was not on the build spec so took some finding! Brakes/tyres/battery not covered. Also had the metal bar from the rear of the roof re-painted as it was worn on the curved part where the roof touches it. I'm really not sure warranty extension is worth it. I only did 3000 miles last year!
Brave! I pop mine on when I'm cleaning it! (then it goes straight back)[]ORIGINAL: daro911 I am very happy with my suncap as it stays exactly where Porsche suggested it stays in the roof well 24/7 [8D]
