you have older GT3 going 25k above what they did last month, supply and demand and some people have the money not to care if they want the car. If a Spyder sold for 55k as stated a few pages back then you just need the right buyer and right spec and you can ask what you like. private vs dealer makes no odds as you can put a full OPC inspection and warranty on a car no issue. not even 3rd party dealers can do this. I would say I buy 95% private as I find the best cars end up not even coming to market, it just so happens both my cars were OPC bought, but I bought with no warranty to get the price down. OPC can do this if you push you don't want the 2 years warranty. A private car only needs 1 month warranty on it for me to be happy, as I know I can get it checked out and get any thing fixed for free and put a warranty on it if I want to. dealers also have limits on prep costs and often buy blind hence why this black one has not have the money spent, private sale car are normally top notch and better prepped than dealers cars (well mine are) only ever sold one car to a dealer which was my M3V8 and my OPC helped me out and sold the car for me for 5k more than the part ex trade value, so was very lucky not having a bath on that car. I still think more PDK cars are coming to market as people move on to the next thing, but I am tired with that PDK vs manual debate now, we are 2 more PDK owners down the last week so it will end up a manual forum soon any way

So are we, can we move on now ? Yeah I agree, the 991 Targa does look the business. I expect it will do very well and be less anonymous than the previous design. Haven't seen one in the metal yet. The only thing that lets it down for me is that its performance is more blunted than the 911 Cab as it is loaded up with even more weight. Though that won't matter as much in the more powerful model, maybe just the 3.4. No doubt it drives better than a Cab, with the stiffer shell but buyers of that type of car might not care which one is quicker and which is sharper - will go for the one they find more attractive I guess. The targa has grabbed my attention whereas the Cab never has.
you will find it's the sales threads which promote a PDK car every time a car comes for sale, not me to quote the last page "Anything close or over £40k today will have to have the right gearbox Rob hence my switching from stick to paddles " so if you are going to give it you have to take it !!!! if people keep saying PDK is better, I keep saying manual is, it takes both side to shut upORIGINAL: Mayhem911So are we, can we move on now ? Just love the 981 targaORIGINAL: flat6
Looks like it comes with Classic Porsche rusty brake discs once you take the top off too []
Done Interesting factoid (or perhaps not[8|]), one of the wheel options for the Spyder was the Turbo wheel at an extra £810 +VAT, same cost as the Turbo II wheel option. Why offer both the old and new Turbo wheels on a car that was introduced at the end of the 987.2 life cycle?[&:] Maybe because its light, being a forged wheel. Looks a bit strange though having a wheel from an earlier period on a newer car. Have only ever seen one pic of a Spyder on the turbo wheel, which I can no longer find, so this is the nearest thing.ORIGINAL: flat6Will do. Will add the wheels at the same time. As you you say, the odd pic doesn't show them.ORIGINAL: DarrellWilsonPCCB might be another one, a significant cost item that can be argued adds to resale values (or not to stop a trail of counter arguements []). Don't think there's many out there but be interesting to have a count. Realise they're sometimes visible from photos with the yellow calipers but not always depending on angle of photo.ORIGINAL: flat6 I think the last thing I should add to the Spyderman list is seats we each have. The wheels can be seen from the pics[]
I wonder how many red cars there are in the UK. This car is on Sport Design wheels so perhaps isn't the 31K miler we saw at 911V last year, nor the car currently on sale. 2 members on here with red ones too. Perhaps more than we think hiding away?ORIGINAL: MrDemon
I was going to unplug the PSE yesterday. lifted the rear deck thing, got that polystyrene moulding out, had a look under that piece of trim below it (without removing it) and saw the engine cover was srewed down with those funny looking star screw things. That's as far as I got. This is clearly a much bigger job than I have been anticipating.

They are torque screws easily removed with correct torque driver and the engine cover lifts of easy exposing the 3.4L[]
I thought people said unplugging / disabling the PSE was done somewhere on the exhaust and getting to the engine was for when installing the override controller thingy, but I've never considered it so could be way wrong. All this talk of tinkering is making me feel queezy. I'm an advocate of leaving everything untouched from how it left the factory and wouldn't even dare remove the 'Boxster' from the rear badge as many have done[&o]. Afterall, it is a Boxster.
flat6 sometimes it left the factory just as a plain Porsche [] Unplugging the PSE is just that pulling a simple plug connection which can be plugged back in by any child over about the age of 7 []ORIGINAL: flat6 I thought people said unplugging / disabling the PSE was done somewhere on the exhaust and getting to the engine was for when installing the override controller thingy, but I've never considered it so could be way wrong.
