I had a run down to Donington for the Historics meeting this Sunday. There were more than 100 Porsches in the club parking, but only 1 Spyder [;)] It was interesting to see the level of interest that it seemed to generate. I even caught the editor of Evo pointing it out to his other half!

EXACTLY ... I only repeated to Rob K earlier today that despite being out of production nearly 3 years I still get thumbs up and quizzed at the petrol pumps what is it, how much is it worth, how fast is it etc etc Yet to receive any detrimental comments or usual anti Porsche finger gesturing [:D]from people who can't stand the brand or their followers[&o]

ORIGINAL: DarrellWilson New Spyder to market - 2010 for £42,900 http://www.jzmporsche.com/porsche-for-sale/boxster/low-mileage-spyder-for-sale-535
911V sold that car in January for £37k at this rate of increase the £50k Spyder will be here before summers out [:D] Boxster Spyder 6 speed manual transmission. First registered 31/03/2010 10-registration. Finished in Carrara White with Black full leather interior (extending to doorcards and dashboard top). Purchased directly from a true Porsche enthusiast and successful Concours competition entrant. A 2 owner car presented in a condition consistent with ones expectation of a Concours winning vehicle. The best Spyder we have seen, presenting in as new condition. During his 34 months of ownership the car never once saw rain and consequently the underside of the car is truly immaculate. Always garaged and highly polished this really is the benchmark by which to judge its peers. An absolute credit to the previous owner and a car we were thrilled to secure for stock. Total Perfection !!! The lightest car in the range courtesy of aluminium door panels, bespoke engine cover and so on Porsche also upped the ante in the power department sharpening things by a few horse power. What they created was the most honest driving car imaginable. The most incredible thing about the drive is the fact it isn't a harsh banging ride, there is still subtleness and an ability to smooth out the bumps. Looks-wise the 718 inspired engine cover humps give this car the air of a baby Carrera GT A huge specification includes unmarked 19" Carrera Classic alloys, Climate controlled air conditioning, PCM 3.0 touchscreen Satellite Navigation, Bluetooth and USB/Ipod connectivity. Sports Chrono Package plus with Chronometer face in black and Sports button for increased throttle response, full and extended leather (dashboard / doorcards), hard backed sports seats, PSE (Porsche Switchable Sports Exhaust), heated seats, rear park assist, white dials, guards red seat belts and door pulls, on-board computer, body coloured centre tunnel in Carrara White, chrome tailpipes, body coloured roll over hoop, rain sensing wipers, auto-dim rear view mirrors, wind deflector, Carrara white dashboard detailing, driver/passenger/side airbags, ABS, power steering, electric windows, remote central locking Thatcham Category 1 alarm / immobiliser and subscription based Porsche VTS tracker security (unchecked). Invoice supported Porsche Main Agent service history from new. Supplied with all appropriate manuals and keys with road fund license through until August 2014. In our eyes the perfect Spyder by some margin. 5,462 recorded miles. Boxster Spyder (Manual) 2010 £37,495

Do you think it being a SOR car, explains the high price too?! It doesn't have the buckets, nor the Spyder alloys. I thought the Top 555 one was ££

And it sold when? [:D][:D][:D] Has somebody really bought your old car to never drive it and cash in on some better weather?

To me (and many others) the heated sports seats are the preferred option. Couldn't have bought one with buckets. Also prefer the way they look in a Boxster.

The owner was looking for a GT3 RS, but couldnt find one, so bought the spyder, then a week later found what he was looking for, but didnt want to back out of the deal with 911v.On hindsight appears to have been a good decision!

Thanks for the updates Ian and Steve. Andy, oops! [:D] Forgot you had upgraded your brakes! How best to describe them. Name your brake fluid, pads and discs and we'll stick that in[:)] Unless its a special personal secret combo for your competitive edge[;)]

I can only guess it's at JZM on SOR and if he paid 911V 37K and then bought a years warranty & 111 Check for circa £1100+ I can't see much cash back if any at all in that deal and 200 miles [&o] Who supplied the GT3 and couldn't he have traded the Spyder back against that purchase or did he and that's how JZM have it up for a record price[:D] It's actually up for sale today for more money than I paid for it at 10 months and 1030 miles of age in February 2011[:)]

I accept the first two sentences but not the third [:D] For people who are the "right size" the buckets are amazing. If they are not the right shape for an owner the other seats are still good, are easier to get in and out of and heatable. To me, buckets play a big part to "make" the car though.

Wow. Says it all really. If only OPCs had a bit more confidence in the market...

Bizarrely I think the Cayman R doesn't look right unless it has the bucket seats. No idea why I don't like the look of them in the Boxster?

Heated seats in a soft top car that usualy goes out in hot sunny weather and will never see snow. I just dont get that
