TBO I see no difference to a Silver wheel .They look very nice and if i had a white car would seriously consider it .I clean my wheels as often as i do the carORIGINAL: MrDemon white wheels would never work unless you had PCCB imo, keeping on top of those looking good would have to be a clean every trip out.
He joined PCGB the day after purchasing the car, but with business and family commitments, doubt he will be on here, due to time issues, which is why I helped with the purchase. Car has been driven more than I expected too, which is a good thing!ORIGINAL: daro911When is the new owner going to reveal himself on here []the membership was fully transferable FOC with the purchase of the carORIGINAL: clubsport I thought you would have included that brochure with the sale of your car! []
I find I don't have to clean my wheels that much, prob once every 3 times I wash the car, but my blacks ones I have to do twice as often as I wash the car. it takes me longer to do the 4 wheels than the car also. having 3 cars with nice alloys, white wheels would be a no no for me to look after with normal brakes. best look imo is the new hi power silver finish which i'll get done over next winter.ORIGINAL: kitchensTBO I see no difference to a Silver wheel .They look very nice and if i had a white car would seriously consider it .I clean my wheels as often as i do the carORIGINAL: MrDemon white wheels would never work unless you had PCCB imo, keeping on top of those looking good would have to be a clean every trip out.

Picked up my turbo yesterday in Scotland. In short I am very pleased [] I expect the notorious chap with the obsessive compulsive disorder will be along soon to try to p*** on my parade but when you're this pleased, none of that matters! [] I had forgotten how much attention a Guards Red Porsche attracts. Once the cover was taken off in the showroom and I had moved to the salesman's desk to sign papers, we noticed how the rest of the customers in the showroom had collected around it like flies around s*** whilst it sat next to an awesome looking 991 Targa. Having seen the Turbo wheels in the metal and for the first time actually looking to critique them, they look surprisingly much better to me in the metal. I am actually not sure now whether to get the Sport Classic wheels. These Turbo wheels are the signature of the gen 1 turbo car and if I was to change them it would not be to try to hide the age of the car, so Turbo II wheels are not an option and don't excite me. It drives pretty much as expected but the way it pulls in 6th gear on the motorway is more than expected. Glad I had cruise control fitted as the speed just creeps up and up and up even when the turbos have barely kicked in whilst cruising. The drive home went really quickly as it is so easy to drive. I didn't try too much to get overly familiar with the car whilst driving on unfamiliar roads but it felt good. I didn't detect any intrusion from the AWD, which is how you'd want it when you don't need it. The power delivery and acceleration is so progressive and composed that it's not frantic whilst it is brutal. I will enjoy exploring this car's capabilities as it is not highly strung like some supercars I read about so I think it will give me the chance to grow into its shoes. Really really pleased and definitely the right choice for me [] Some pics over here http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=551000&mpage=19
Me too wonder if we can get a deal done for 8 wheels from 2 different locations[]ORIGINAL: MrDemon best look imo is the new hi power silver finish which i'll get done over next winter.
No one like that on here, I think the Turbo is a great car for what it does and red is a cool colour to have enjoyORIGINAL: flat6 I expect the notorious chap with the obsessive compulsive disorder will be along soon to try to p*** on my parade but when you're this pleased, none of that matters! []
Note to all you guys with 4 year old cars and having the service done. get your air filters changed as its not done even on the 4 year service which is crazy. took mine out today, As I fitted a Vflow filter kit and desnorked the side vent.(fitted mesh in place of the snorkel to stop the larger crap getting in) the old filter was full of dust and well past it's best and my cars only on 9k miles. So not saying by a Vflow, but at your 4 year service ask them for a new air filter.

Car looks superb "health to drive"" I would not change the wheels, they are part of the cars history and identity, though I would go for the coloured centres. For some reason the coloured centres seem to look particularly well with guards red, maybe my imagination. Interestingly I asked the local OPC how the lacquered bits on my Turbo 2 wheels would last compared to painted wheels and they said they thought if anything it was harder wearing.ORIGINAL: flat6 Picked up my turbo yesterday in Scotland. [] cheers mate []ORIGINAL: tyinsky You seemed much taller when I met you in person? Car looks great.
So having been persuaded by the weather, together with some gentle persuasion from MrD & MrK, to go I started to seek one-off track day cover - I've exhausted my PCGB track day allowance and can't get them interested in providing any additional cover for love nor money. It appears that I'm not going to get better than 1% of the value of the car, even having factored in a discount for having done loads of track & race days over the past few years. So on a conservative valuation of my car at £40k [] that puts the premium at £400 for the one day's cover!!....... and that's with a £5k excess. Add to that the fuel for a 360 mile round trip (£120) plus fuel on the day (£100) plus the discounted track day rate of £200, it comes to a total sum of £820!! As much as I love Anglesey, especially when the sun shines, I'm struggling to justify that slug of money for a day's entertainment!!! Off to work out the cost of cancelling my current insurance early and taking out a new policy with track day cover included. It's a business trying to do pleasure with insurers!ORIGINAL: rob.kellockAs MrD says - discount available to PCGB first timers. I paid in full!!
