If you get so much pleasure from your Spyder and can afford to keep it until the thrill has gone "KEEP IT" would be my advice it's not like you can just go out and buy another example that fits the bill if you sold and regretted doing so [;)] £ for £ what else can deliver on so many fronts and with so little depreciation too None of this answers your 4 seat needs of course [:D][:D] New Page New Pic

the issue we all have lol

Unless you're planning to go in a completely different direction with your next choice I think it might be difficult to choose a replacement. I don't know what could give a similar overall ownership experience. You can get a different pleasure from owning a different type of car but I don't know what matches the Spyder in its space. I think for me the Spyder showed me that there are great Porsche cars and then there are those that push the envelope that bit further. For me I think i'd only stick to 'top of the tree' type models from now on as i'm then not thinking about the next model up. For me the Spyder tops the 987 tree. 911 is a bit different as there a various tops of the tree. That said, it will be interesting to see where Porsche goes with the 981 and how long the GTS will be the halo model. I have a feeling that the GTS is a transient step and there is more to come very soon - 4 pot turbo or not. Looking at the present, yes it tops the S, but only just, given the way the options are stacked up. But looking forwards to possibly what's coming, maybe it isn't worth stretching to it over an S in 981 gen 1 when there could be a hotter one or gen 2 soon...

GTS is a good deal if you want the options it comes pre-packaged with. My car is about 95% there with a few other goodies but cost £20k less because it is a few months old. I suppose I have therefore put my money where my mouth is... [:D] Could do with a sports exhaust and 15bhp though ;-)

Too late now but as a PSE is a deal maker for me I would have wanted it supplied and fitted close to factory price probably doable still through a good indi[;)]

Amen! I think I've given up deciding what to change it for - 4 new tyres and a warranty going on in the next few months. A 24hr test drive in a new M3 and Alpina B/D3 at the end of the month will probably see our own Alpina sold and a new something in its place....and the Spyder still in the garage. Never have i found it so hard to find another car...

It's not such a big deal with a Cayman. I have done 1500 miles in it in less than a month and will do double that before the end of the next calendar month. It sounds OK when you boot it but will never replicate a Spyder PSE on with the roof down in a tunnel!

That is exactly why it has become an instant classic slowly but surely being discovered by more and more people as these Spyders pass through several owners hands before finding that keeper [:D]

just had a look at the price of spyders abroad to see how we compare and they are circa Euro 70k in germany but only 1 car for sale(fitted with fuchs) and Euro 60k+ in france 3 cars for sale yet usa is the cheapest at $60k ish about 10 cars for sale.

USA cars are much cheaper than Euroland. No VAT for starters and as the majority of Spyders went to the USA 10 cars on a pro rata basis is probably very low numbers still

Using Chrome too and no problems[;)] http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds?Category=used-cars&Keyword=spyder&KeywordCleanedValue=spyder&M=512&Page=1&SortOptions=PriceHighToLow&isExperiment=True

I think it is new to market. The Red Spyder for sale on PH is £39,500. This one on Autotrader was for sale before at the same garage - http://luigimotors.com/cars/used/Porsche/Boxster/Spyder-2011.html (old advert )

I have driven the R8 many times and been on the R8 vip day with Audi the V8 feels slow, the inside is a bit dated, the car is WIDE it has no space to put any thing, the R tronic is cronic. so that leaves the V10 manual or the newer DSG, issue with V10 is 17 mpg, it's still wide and no where to put any thing, but it's very nice :) but you can leave the 50k older V8 alone imo. unless it's just a pose machine.
