96 if I am understanding your point correctly [&o]The car arrived at the dealers 3rd week April so possibly it was made very late March 11ORIGINAL: spyderwhite so your car is newer than some cars registered sept 2011 although registered april 2011.and by what you say the vin last 3 numbers on your car start with a 9 then the next number is either an 8 or a 9 my whole point is because a car regd 9/11 is percieved newer and is a 61 plate and not a 11 plate dealers and private sales may want to charge more (all things being equal) and a buyer may chase the 61 plate because of the plate/reg difference when in fact it is worth no more if not less than your car because it is actually older.this is not just the case with spyders but all porsche models since 2008/9 as dealers stock pile cars whereas pre credit crunch 99% of new porsche cars were built to order. my car was built late june 2011 so 2 months newer than your car so the value should be no greater (if cars are alike)yet going by the reg date its 8 months newer so a dealer would charge more and some potential buyers may think it is 8 months newer which is not the case.

on your log book although i have a copy of the dealers "comms" (order form) just checked mine and it is CC0021** adds weight to the less than 1900 spyders worldwide theory as my car is in the last 100 batch worldwide and more engines than cars are made

£43,500 - Major has been done, no OPC warranty...ORIGINAL: billy1 New to market? http://www.thehairpincompany.co.uk/car-Porsche-Boxster_Spyder-2010.html 4k, White, Buckets, Manual. No asking price. Anyone know the car? Saw it in the back of Octane - according to the advert, only 179 RHD cars made - surely that can't be right?
CB426** From the defunct USA Spyder website they reckoned the final production figures w/w circa 1800++ORIGINAL: spyderwhite on your log book although i have a copy of the dealers "comms" (order form) just checked mine and it is CC0021** adds weight to the less than 1900 spyders worldwide theory as my car is in the last 100 batch worldwide and more engines than cars are made
Thanks for finding out. From current asking prices that seems about right I think? 1k a year seems a terrible shame for such a usable car!ORIGINAL: philnotts99£43,500 - Major has been done, no OPC warranty...ORIGINAL: billy1 New to market? http://www.thehairpincompany.co.uk/car-Porsche-Boxster_Spyder-2010.html 4k, White, Buckets, Manual. so there is a difference in engine numbers between 2011my and 2012 my i would have thought if no difference in production years and the cars the same then engine numbers would be a continuation.are the engine numbers the same as a 987.2 caymanS as they are basically the same engine? why did 2011 my go to 4000+ and 2012 my 2000+ thats over 6000 engines? i did read some 2 years ago that actual/total production was 1881ORIGINAL: daro911CB426** From the defunct USA Spyder website they reckoned the final production figures w/w circa 1800++ORIGINAL: spyderwhite on your log book although i have a copy of the dealers "comms" (order form) just checked mine and it is CC0021** adds weight to the less than 1900 spyders worldwide theory as my car is in the last 100 batch worldwide and more engines than cars are made

Well, I guess there is science-fiction and there is science-fact. If a Spyder with sports seats, radio and AC does the same test and is less than 8/10ths slower then it will still be faster than the R8. That will be a qualified conclusion and science-fact. Others may have the opinion that a Spyder with sports seats, radio and AC, even steels vs PCCB would not be 8/10th slower around that circuit, which could be considered massive with a good, consistent dtiver. I don't hsve an opinion on it. Might be a few tenths of a second, might be half a second, might be a second, who knows. But without any measurement for facts, it's just fiction.ORIGINAL: MrDemon what I find funny is people quoting reviews and timing sheets of a Spyder beating a R8 when 80% of the Spyders sold would prob lap slower than that R8 in the Test. the Spyder tested was the full monty light weight spec car with PCCB's !!! and when you are talking 8/10ths then that's the only spec which is going to lap faster.
