Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

ORIGINAL: Siy let's all move on chaps and chapesses.... we all have different views - maybe let's just stop repeating them ad finitum? So - need some help - Have been dithering for ages now whether to keep or sell... but (as a reminder), I really need my toy to seat 4 peopl, as more and more often I will be taking the family with me... So - its back to a 997 (been there, done that) or perhaps a California. So, where should I pitch it? Its pretty much fully loaded... White , 2011 Spyder Wheels Bucket Seats CDR 30 Audio System Sound Package Plus including CD storage Sports Chrono Plus PDK (with paddles) Porsche Communication Management (PCM) including navigation module Telephone module for PCM Universal audio interface 4,800 miles ParkAssist (rear) Carrara White instrument dials Fully automatic climate control Sports exhaust system Thats the bulk of it - cant remember off hand what else! The wheels, lower arm of the mirrors and air scoop trims are painted in RS WeissGold - a very pale (barely noticeable) gold that Porsche use on the RS.... maybe not to everyone's taste, but it looks fantastic - very very subtle...but lovelty when the sun shines on it. To take this all back to standard wold cost around £800 - but I would be pretty sure that 80% of people that see it would keep it that way....everyone's different! The front driver's wheel is lightly curbed. Other than that - the car is genuinely immaculate. So - how much do I advertise it for? Would like to see it go to a good home where it gets looked after - it's an awesome car! I'm still not actually 100% that I want to let it go....!! Thoughts please...?
Siy, you may have noticed but there was someone on Pistonheads looking for your exact spec: http://www.pistonheads.com/gAssing/topic.asp?h=0&f=23&t=1244784&mid=0&i=100&nmt=RE%3A+You+Know+You+Want+To%3A+Porsche+Boxster+Spyder&mid=0 Might be worth an e-mail.

Thanks Billy - I will do just that.... Much appreciated! Would be far happier it going to someone that will cherish it!

Was at a car show at the weekend and the number of people who came up and said never ever seen this model before was staggering .Some said they had seen photos of White ones but never a Red one . In fact got a serious offer from one gentleman who was prepared to give me a deposit on the car there and then after looking at the car for some time he was from the Kendal area and had only ever seen one in the local OPC. Told him to go on the sites and see what was on offer as a mine was not .The problem is what do you replace it with ?? so no need to give these cars away as I think there will always be a buyer out there who will pay top money for a top car .

50k cars next summer imo. Hence me not selling mine, sold too many car to soon and all have gone up .... CSL, Noble, GT3 I sold all those too cheap and all are mega money now for their age. Spyders is only going one way, so don't give them away. Buyers are always waiting, I think what puts people off is the circa 8k price rise they have already had in the last 12 months so people think they have missed out, but then the cars go up and up and they double miss out lol. It's better than money in the bank with todays interest rates, so no point selling up. Just done 1.1k miles in mine in 3 days !!! so now a high miler with 11k on it :) looked better with sub 10k on it.. but you have to also enjoy them.

Well what do you know? Just as I was about to get in the car for an afternoon driving the Boxster GTS at Silverstone PEC I get a call from Porsche tellng me that the centre is closed down, all staff have and customers have been evacuated! Apparently someone found an undetonated hand grenade! Oh well, will have to wait a bit longer!

Was there a new 911 GT3 in there - a known fire risk?

Future classic unless you let Portsmouth try to fix a rattle in your bucket seats. One of the main factors in selling mine, incompetent to say the least. New car is on the boat, might delay until Sept so it feels quick after kicking around in golf 2.0 diesel for a bit. Manual Golf R is the new toy on a spectacular lease deal imo.

Rattle in bucket seat [] surely not that hard to fix. A quick call to HQ technical or another dealer must have been able to have fixed it surely

VvroomM, did they fix the rattly bucket seat? I haven't noticed it on the occasions I have driven it and the owner hasn't mentioned it either....Curious!

all the lease deals went pear shaped on the R I thought and no one stuck by them, still great deals though, but it's still a hugh boat and offers nothing a Mid engine Porsche can. main reason to sell a Spyder was a seat rattle lol, come off it, the car is one of todays best drivers cars, to swap it for a Golf just says a lot about the what type of car you want to drive, the seat rattle is a poor excuse I am sorry to say.

There you go again MrD. It was one of the reasons but the one that sticks in my mind, at no point did I compare the GolfR to the Spyder in any context. Not ALL the deals went pear shaped - my lease deal is signed and the car is built. Wanted a car to shift my bike and gear around in, release the equity to clear my mortgage, loan my sister in law a house deposit, big enough for the 3 of us among other things just so you're fully informed.

Anyone here joining me on 8th July at the PEC for a morning session in the Boxster GTS If so lets have a coffee and sticky bun together[:D]

Any Spydermen current or EX going to the Silverstone Classic weekend this month as it would be great to meet up for a chinwag and 99 together [8D]

Health and Safety have got wind of the above and currently the British F1 GP is on hold![;)]

as I said you did not sell it because there was a rattle in a seat !!! not that I care I just find forums odd what reason people give, then when pushed the real reasons come out ! by the by, enjoy the Golf R , it's a very nice car, and if you managed to get one of the great deals before all the companies pulled them that's all double good.
