Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

Excellent news, subtley delivered! I drove a red PDK one around the experience centre for a morning, they do look great. Word of caution - and I'm sure you don't need reminding - but please take it easy on cold wet greasy roads - no full throttle in second gear unless the steering wheel is pointing straight ahead and there's no dodgy camber. PSM saved me last night (sorry Rob, I went out in the rain by accident) - too much gas too soon coming off a roundabout caught me out whilst I was napping listening to the radio - no sooner had the back end stepped out of line the PSM corrected it but I was certainly surprised and not in a good way!

Congratulations if we are eagerly reading the clues correctly[:)] I second what Rob is saying. I brought my Spyder home in poor weather and I assumed that it was only going to be a little sharper and a little quicker than my gen 1 Cayman S. After a few miles of what I thought had sussed the car out, I chucked it into a wet roundabout and I learned that the car is a lot sharper and goes where it's told without being brutal with it. I either got oversteer or it just steered more direct but the surprise of it didn't give me chance to work it out. I gave the car some more respect after that[;)] I think that was still in my mind on my first time on track in it at Oulton Park and I gave it too much respect and so I can't wait for Angelsey[;)]

RAIN![] OMG Any chance the roundabout surface wasn't covered in some oily stuff like roundabouts next to petrol stations often are Glad to hear PSM saved the day along with RK Spyderman fast opposite lock in full play to assist [;)] I think this new page deserves some silence today until our latest recruit returns home with his new lady in red and pictures of proof :ROFLMAO:

Chaps, I hate to break radio silence contrary to instructions from TeamSpyder HQ but... JOHN!!! WHERE ARE YOU? ARE YOU OK?? [:D] You set off to Oxford at 5am and Google maps tell me it's only a couple of hours away from Cambridge!! Eleven hours later and I'm starting to get worried.

Here's the link to that wet, red Spyder. Hope he didn't try to learn the roof on the way home today [:D] http://teamspeed.com/forums/boxster-cayman/45468-rain-spyder.html

Rob fully understand as I did the same checks as you and concluded John should have posted by lunchtime! Maybe he can't stop driving her [8D]

Either that or he's just staring at it with a lopsided grin on his face and admiring the contrast stitching on the heated seats!

In the meantime whilst we are await further news I reckon the previous owner spent a pretty penny getting this wrap done especially around that fiddly rear end [link=http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201301315131872/sort/default/usedcars/price-to/50000/price-from/30000/model/boxster/make/porsche/onesearchad/used/onesearchad/nearlynew/onesearchad/new/keywords/spyder/radius/1501/page/1/postcode/n20qx?logcode=p]http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201301315131872/sort/default/usedcars/price-to/50000/price-from/30000/model/boxster/make/porsche/onesearchad/used/onesearchad/nearlynew/onesearchad/new/keywords/spyder/radius/1501/page/1/postcode/n20qx?logcode=p[/link]

Congratulations John!! [:)]It's really good to see one of these cars turn up with a PCGB member. We've seen many a Spyder disappear without a trace as far as PCGB is concerned. I look forward to your first impressions after a few days of opening her up as I expect your journey home will not have exposed all that you'll discover with the Spyder (but would like to hear how you coped on a long journey in a car not designed for that type of thrill - unless you picked a good route[;)]) I coped OK on the long motorway run but I know that's not for everyone. P.S. Looks great but make sure you use it as it was intended[;)]

Phew, Spydermen search party had just been established! Looks lovely, you must be thrilled. White ones are faster though [;)]

Unfortunately they'll not see a return on the money invested in the hard top or the wrap as your average Spyder enthusiast will want neither. Looks better already with the hard top off but if they want to shift it quickly they'll need to take the wrap off. Who'd risk buying it not knowing if the wrap will come off without detrimental effect on the paintwork. If they want to sell it even quicker still, putting back the side stripes will help further.

I dont like to say this but we are running second behind a front engined car![]

It's clearly the right car for the location - must be really sunny judging by all the solar panels on the neighbours' roofs! Edited to add - my first impression is that a nice set if coloured wheel centres from John's friendly local OPC would look great against the red.
