I mean when they are too old to be sold via an OPC []ORIGINAL: rob.kellock To be fair, that has happened at least once []

No another night another nightmare, since being the 'end boy' when the jump took place over a year ago I keep having a recurring nightmare![]ORIGINAL: dyllan Couldn't sleep john ?[]
Me neither keep seeing this with a flat4 turbo sitting behind the driver []ORIGINAL: dyllan Couldn't sleep john ?[]
The latest Evo (issue 200) has arrived at our house. In it, the 918 Spyder gets some rather good coverage! I've got to say that if a straight swap for my 987 Spyder was offered, it wouldn't take much thinking about before I bit their hand off down to the elbow!
I've driven the F-type as well. Jag brought a couple to a Porsche Club night - the S and V8 S. I think they are great cars for the market space they occupy. But not one club member said they'd consider swapping their Porsche for one. Like you say it's a great car. The car mags (or was it Jag as well?) talked the car up against the Boxster and 911 (not so much with the Cayman by time the F-Type coupe came out because by then it was accepted that they are not alternatives). It was very comfortable and silky smooth to drive; the way a Jaguar should be. But like you, when you get back into your Porsche, it's all forgotten when you're in a car that makes you feel more connected with the road and feel easier about how planted it is. It's always good to drive other cars at any opportunity and just remind yourself how good your Porsche really is[]ORIGINAL: homerdog Just spent a couple of hours driving F-type coupes around Millbrook, courtesy of Jag and Evo magazine. The R sounds absolutely mental in dynamic mode, almost worth the price for the noise alone - on the way out I followed a Ferrari F12 and C63 AMG giving it some beans down the mile straight and neither sounded as good! Also did 140 around the banked bowl in a torrential downpour and hit 170 on the mile straight which was great fun! The F also looks fantastic, particularly in white and black, so might it replace the Spyder? The answer was confirmed when I was interviewed by Nick Trott who asked what I thought of the F and how it compared to my current car - when he asked what I drove, he said he loves the Spyder and had thought about buying one; any thoughts of the Jag were quickly forgotten by both of us! I presume the gap in the middle of the cars is where you had originally taken up a 'safe' spot, and then you were moved to the end for the grand finale[] Glad it didn't turn out to be the final curtains for "J4 DUN" []ORIGINAL: jdpef356 New page new spyder pic
I was on the end same way round as other cars before the final jump. Stunt rider then asked me to drive around arena before parking me end on to make it nine cars length.ORIGINAL: flat6I presume the gap in the middle of the cars is where you had originally taken up a 'safe' spot, and then you were moved to the end for the grand finale[] Glad it didn't turn out to be the final curtains for "J4 DUN" []ORIGINAL: jdpef356 New page new spyder pic
Was out in mine today in torrential rain and Daro 911 they don't shrink honest [][]......and not a drop inside the only drips you get is when you open the door to get in and out, never had any issues with water getting in ever .So all those non owners that say it is not a waterproof hood are wrong. Dropped into the local McLaren garage on the way back and sat in the 650s not as easy to get into as the Spyder but a stunning car ,did think it looked a bit sparse looking inside and not sure I liked the Alcantara interior on the dash but will never own one so it's not going to be a problem[]
Almost as stunning as the depreciation every single modern day Mac has suffered so far [] Great for the used car buyer [] http://www.caranddriver.com/mclaren/650sORIGINAL: MrDemon I also sat in the 650s Spyder today! it was stunning.
that's the one I sat in I think. they are solid 2nd hand buys it seems now. have they lost that much in % terms ? £170k new cheapest ones are £125k but on the whole cars are £130k so 25% drop . Porsche loose 50% of base price in 3 years and most cars have 15k options as well which you loose the price of.ORIGINAL: daro911Almost as stunning as the depreciation every single modern day Mac has suffered so far [] Great for the used car buyer [] http://www.caranddriver.com/mclaren/650sORIGINAL: MrDemon I also sat in the 650s Spyder today! it was stunning.
I suppose considering the depreciation on modern Ferrari's today e.g. 458 Spiders come with a £20-30k discount off list and then drop another £30k once registered the McLarens are now no worse and as you say may even be slightly better but factor back in 7 years free servicing on the prancing horse and it might prove to be a far more cost effective way to go for the used car buyer. I would imagine service and spares on Ron's dream machine will be eye watering even compared to a Ferrari once the 7 year freebies finish [&o]ORIGINAL: MrDemonthat's the one I sat in I think. they are solid 2nd hand buys it seems now. have they lost that much in % terms ? £170k new cheapest ones are £125k but on the whole cars are £130k so 25% drop . They sure are if these prices are anything to go by []ORIGINAL: flat6 Consider a low production or limited production Porsche and their residuals are quite strong.
