Class [] What's that funny old fashioned looking stick coming out of the middle of the centre console? I thought they all had some lettering next to them these days - P D something or other? []ORIGINAL: MrDemon and here I thought people were having to stick tat to their cars to hold them ;-) one for the phone one for the Shades lol, very messy

I'm a sole trader and have a van. What do you want to know?ORIGINAL: MrDemon Any one here a good accountant ? and knows about company cars and sole traders ? I have seen 3 all 3 have told me some thing different, which is annoying at best and at worse is costing me a lot of money, in fees and TAX
Heads Up - Halfords have a 10% off everything flash sale until 2pm today! CTEK now ordered!
ORIGINAL: Steve Brown Thanks! I'll hold off ordering. BatteryPitStop.co.uk don't stock the model that I want to buy, so I'll be ordering online from Halfords.ORIGINAL: VvrooomM 10% off as british cycling club member at Halfords. Will see if I can dig out a code.
Ouch, you see this is what comes of being continually so harsh about peoples car on the forum. The buyer of Vvroomm's PDK, loaded Spyder is a tax specialist with '000's of sole trader clients on his books. So basically you are looking for someone to help you, who's car you haven't slagged off, who knows UK tax accounting practice and owns a Spyder with buckets, Spyder wheels, PSE and no a/c......that's quite an exclusive club! would you trust an accountant who cannot even change his own gears ? (that's only 6 numbers) I don't get upset when people say "but PDK is faster and the future" and some of my mates drive an auto box, well when I say drive ......... lol lets keep the dream alive on the new GT4 as no one is posting pics these days, but my manual fight will never end....
Maybe that's it.... the accountants aren't so daunted by numbers so they go for 7 speeds? [] I only own / drive manuals myself. I do enjoy the occasional spin in an auto as they progress, good to see they have come on from SMG2 and F1 (355/360) changes, which I always thought were dreadful in comparison. I know a chap looking for a Spyder at the moment to use on track, he is keen on PDK, but I am trying my best to sway him toward the manual, partly down to potential overheating and ultimately cost issues. I think for a lot of people order their cars as white goods, occasional use and if they don't get on with the configuration, can either put up with it or change the car when it's time.
With all the racing cars out there in all Formula's with paddle shift gears and all the abuse PDK gets everyday at the PEC's around the world plus the gearbox has an additional radiator to keep things cool plus you can launch it all day long with no adverse affects I think your Spyderman looking to race a PDK has made a wise choice and I am a passionate manual man who switched 9 months ago and haven't looked back once since doing so as I am now able to get so much more performance out of my Spyder without feeling guilty that I might be harming my gearbox or clutchORIGINAL: clubsport I know a chap looking for a Spyder at the moment to use on track, he is keen on PDK, but I am trying my best to sway him toward the manual, partly down to potential overheating and ultimately cost issues.
To get the max performance out of that flat 4 turbo motor it will have to be PDK only like it's big brother GT3 []You best start prepapring yourself mentally for that day as launch date draws ever closerORIGINAL: MrDemon would you trust an accountant who cannot even change his own gears ? I have heard of as few cases where the PDK has not responded well to "amateur" use when it has got a little hot on track. I don't know how many track days you have done and at what level of commitment you have on track. I can tell you, it soon takes it's toll on a road spec car. "Racing cars in Formulas with paddle shift gears", are unlikely to be to road spec and I am quite sure they have a larger budget to cover transmission failure than most track day enthusiasts? I am a fan of PDK in the Spyder, for road use and probably occasional track work......I think the increased potential cost over a manual box is a valid consideration.ORIGINAL: daro911With all the racing cars out there in all Formula's with paddle shift gears and all the abuse PDK gets everyday at the PEC's around the world plus the gearbox has an additional radiator to keep things cool plus you can launch it all day long with no adverse affects I think your Spyderman looking to race a PDK has made a wise choice and I am a passionate manual man who switched 9 months ago and haven't looked back once since doing so as I am now able to get so much more performance out of my Spyder without feeling guilty that I might be harming my gearbox or clutchORIGINAL: clubsport I know a chap looking for a Spyder at the moment to use on track, he is keen on PDK, but I am trying my best to sway him toward the manual, partly down to potential overheating and ultimately cost issues.
Its all a matter of personal taste I had 2 Manual Boxsters, a Manual C2S, a Manual Turbo, a PDK Turbo S all good cars in their own right but I've moved back to a Manual GT3RS as its what I want out of a car ! Oh bye the way its a keeper my only problem is keeping the mileage reasonable.
Oooh, I think I might belong to an exclusive club at last [] []

MY only track days these days are at the PEC[]where I think you would agree the quickest way around that track is in a PDK left to it's own devices leaving me in charge of the go & stop pedals only[&o] Based on what you have said I can see why you suggest stick shift Spyder for track day owners in particularORIGINAL: clubsport I have heard of as few cases where the PDK has not responded well to "amateur" use when it has got a little hot on track. The car looks great John. I think red is the new white lol. I'm glad the right car turned up for me in a bold colour. Most turbos are a conservative silver, black or grey. Mr Kellock has also gone red. Looking forward to taking a red convoy on some great British roads along with this red GT3 who's owner has recently upgraded from a blue turbo. Mr Fagan will be the only white car allowed[]ORIGINAL: jdpef356I don't know about royalty Cecil, 30C+ and was glad of A/C! Where was that?ORIGINAL: jdpef356 New page new Spyder picA rare extra - it could only happen in France[:-]
Yup!!
I'm now a Ferrari man through and through. I have owned a 996gt3 and driven 997 gt3's I always feel they only offer a little more than the norm. Today I have driven the 458 speciale, and boy oh boy this car is in a whole new league of performace. Let's face it, it's expensive vs a GT3 but it's no contest, the 600bhp in the 458 speciale and the steering and , well every thing, it's just awesome. I am blown away by it. And don't have words to explain what a car this is to drive. How evo can vote the 997.2rs a better car over this is shocking.
Cheers John []ORIGINAL: jdpef356 Posted on behalf of Cliff Wanted for a PCGB Member on a budget so if your Spyder is a low miler or top end price this is not worth reading any further. So if you have a higher miler up to 40kmiles must be PDK seats wheels not any issues with any type. Must be fsh and good condition. So if you are trading in and the dealer has offered a low price this may be a way of getting a couple of K more. This is for 987 2010 Model. Many thanks for looking and contact me if you have one. Cliff.
