Values are certainly going up, given these increased asking prices alongside increased mileage Being experienced sellers of Spyders as these OPCs are, they'll know that they're not seasonally price sensitive like many roadsters Will be interesting to see how quickly these sell as the prices are quite bold for 30 & 40k milers and will they stick out for a buy price close to asking price. I personally wouldn't buy a 30k mile Spyder for £42K, nor would want the wear and tear of someone else's 45k miles, but my opinion doesn't count; it's the market that dictates. The 987 Spyder market certainly looks strong to hold its own should there be a 981 which will probably cost considerably more new and used and hence not directly compete.
How did this one slip under the Radar?[8|] http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/porsche/boxster-987-05-12/just-sold-similar-required-boxster-spyder-pdk/2281784
Looking at the wheels on that it looks like the one that belonged to someone who contributed on here (Was it Ken Ritchie???)

ORIGINAL: ralphmusic In 2011 I went on a 10 day trip Atlanta, Spartanburg BMW plant, through the Smokies to Knoxville to visit friends, Charlotte for the Coca Cola 600, then on to Charleston to recover and back to Atlanta, all in a Cadillac SRX, comfortable for the distance I travelled but not light on its feet..

Along with the NASCAR race, the Dragon was a highlight. You will have seen that trucks have been a real problem

but will apparently be banned from mid-January 2015. When I got to the bottom, I went into the large parking area in my huge SUV and had great difficulty executing a 95 point turn to get out without hitting any of the 100’s of motorbikes whilst 100’s of bikers unhelpfully just looked on to see whether I would knock any bikes over. Having seen this later in Charleston, I reflected on my parking experience...

Enjoy the trip..
Trucks were not a problem for me. Ice was!

Probably also worth noting that the "2011 (60) 40,000 miles PDK £37000" car (at the trade centre) is in fact a 2010, 46,000 mile car if you read the ad!

Welcome back Billy and good spot. At that mileage and no 2 year Porsche warranty it is no surprise it just won't shift [:D]

If that trade centre one can be had for around £35k it's not bad imo. Spend 3k on refreshing a few items and it's probably a good buy compared to the opc on with 40k odd miles and reasonably priced. Spec is ideal as well. If you look closely at the white one at the opc, it looks well used in those pics. Seats dirty, paint chipped off on the sills, dent in rear bumper. They should have prepped it accordingly before taking the pictures.

With the amount of salt they're putting down up here, it looks like mine will be hibernating in the garage for quite a while [:(]
ORIGINAL: ted walker I also went for a run out on Saturday. Plan to go to Queen Square on N Years Day and Bicester on the 4th jan.

Interesting thread! How do people think Spyders will compare to Cayman R's pricewise? There aren't many about but the Spyders at OPC's seem to be older with higher mileage and priced higher than younger, lower mileage Cayman R's? I see this as a good thing that OPC's see 30-40k 4 year old Spyders at £42-£43k+! Are there more R's than Spyders? Having searched for months and months for the right Cayman R, I know that both cars are highly spec sensitive, probably more than mileage sensitive which I found bizarre. Do people expect both to rise, one to rise and the other not or both to potentially fall away when new models come along? :)

# Are you still planning on picking yours up on the 3rd around 10am if so will try and make it through to see you Brian

both to rise. R has a great following now and the right spec cars are snapped up, the one you posted on PH has been bought already. Just a slow burner. if the GT4 lacks in any way shape or form the R will rocket up to 45k in Spring 2015. But I expect it to stay about 42k with sub 10k mile cars closer to 45k Spyder will rise 1st as it just looks more bespoke. Spyder's in euro land are far more expensive and sort after atm, UK will follow. I expect 50k cars in 2015 for a nice manual with the right bits and circa 10k miles. R is starting to attract the driver focus owner now or people who are fed up with GT3's on UK roads, it does make a 1 car fits all if you only need 2 seats.
