Seats look very nice ...would consider doing mine do you have a small piece of the material you could post up to check out the shade I will send stamps down to cover costs . Also not you have some wear on the bolsters where the seat belts meet same on mine
I also have slight wear on the driver's side bolster, very hard to get in and out without rubbing it. I wonder has anyone had this bit re-covered, it is only a small thing but when the car is otherwise perfect I will probably want to do something about it sooner or later.

Mine has just started ever so slightly too on the CR at 17k miles. I don't think its getting in and out as I always lift bum fully so's not to hit that. I think it's just the seat belt that does it.

ORIGINAL: C2MTH Low mileage private seller if anyone is looking for this spec Spyder http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C537160 This was on Auto trader for a while recently. Reads a lovely low mileage and late registration example. I think the combination of black with no air con or PSE is the issue.
Hi Matt, It's my car, and just to confirm it's not the one that has been on autotrader (which I think was a manual, and without the side-script). I have to say I've never missed the air-con, the roof is so thin I can't see it making any real difference. I've never had any problems with fogging up either, but then the car isn't really driven in the rain. Colour is of course a personal preference! Still not sure that I want to sell it but I'll see what interest there is.

I have hooked some pipe insulating foam over the side bolster, gently kept in place with a loose cable-tie looped through the seat-belt hole. It's really kept the wear off the side-bolster I have to say. Of course very cheap and totally removable.

Good plan, may try that too [;)]

i suppose you could spread the wear by swaping over the seat bases, i thing the base is the same but the back is handed. not sure but worth a look. chances the near side seat is perfect, at least they will both have a bit of wear. i have not had the leather sections off but it does not look too hard to do as i think they are also velcroed in the certain points

Hi Bill as you know my Spydering is only ever done 24/7 in topless mode and the only rare time I use the air con is when we get those very hot sunny oppressive days and I put the windows up and air con on using the face air vents to keep cool .. it works a treat but probably not used in this fashion more than 2/3 times to date so an essential option for me it isn't but the next owner may want the car as a daily driver [] If you don't mind sharing what would you replace your Spyder with if she goes

It certainly is a nice to have but I don't really get it in the Spyder. It's also a notorious weak point on the Boxster. I didn't miss it in the South of France in June 2013! I'm keeping my powder dry on the possible replacement - that is the hardest part in fact, what is there really that matches the performance, rarity, value and running costs? For me the only reason the car is for sale is because I fancy a change, not because I have found something better....

That's the million $ question which is so hard to answer [:D] I am pinning my savings on a 981 Spyder Spring 2016 and in the meantime shall continue to enjoy the beauty I have Good luck with the sale it's a cracking low mileage example for someone out there I am sure

Good idea I think covering it is the answer.

I think covering it, to protect it, is the answer. Not sure it is actually leather.

Looks like a nice car. If you took the A-Team van livery Spyder decals off and re-painted the wheels to OEM... [:D]

That looks so old fashioned. You should upgrade to the new Cayman PDK. I will give you a good p/ex price... Only joking - looks amazing, please give me first refusal if you ever make the same stupid decision I did!

You're not alone - here's Ted Walker at Bicester last Sunday proving that a Spyder is suitable for winter motoring.
