I do remember it for sale before ..which Spyderman owns it ? With that mileage surprised it needed fronts at 9K I have done 8.6K and as far as I know loads tread left, Also think price is a bit low but keeping it under the £40K is more appealing to potential buyers OPC will retail that at £43980 + it has still I assume 9 months warranty left before its big service in Nov 15

billy1 see below ORIGINAL: billy1 quote: ORIGINAL: C2MTH Low mileage private seller if anyone is looking for this spec Spyder http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C537160 This was on Auto trader for a while recently. Reads a lovely low mileage and late registration example. I think the combination of black with no air con or PSE is the issue. Hi Matt, It's my car, and just to confirm it's not the one that has been on autotrader (which I think was a manual, and without the side-script). I have to say I've never missed the air-con, the roof is so thin I can't see it making any real difference. I've never had any problems with fogging up either, but then the car isn't really driven in the rain. Colour is of course a personal preference! Still not sure that I want to sell it but I'll see what interest there is. Hi Bill as you know my Spydering is only ever done 24/7 in topless mode and the only rare time I use the air con is when we get those very hot sunny oppressive days and I put the windows up and air con on using the face air vents to keep cool .. it works a treat but probably not used in this fashion more than 2/3 times to date so an essential option for me it isn't but the next owner may want the car as a daily driver If you don't mind sharing what would you replace your Spyder with if she goes

I honestly think we are only 12 months from seeing a 50K low mileage Spyder and 4 years from a 50K 40000 mile Spyder. well that's my honest opinion

Question is will it be a 987 or a981 Spyder [:D]

Presumably no sale[&o]
Unfortunately a few time wasters combined with short notice work abroad meant that I wasn't able to deal with the sale. Deposit taken on Saturday morning near the asking price though so maybe it was a touch cheap.... It's not sold until it's paid for and gone but I got serious interest from two other parties too. Perhaps the prices are set to rocket (that would be typical!).

I tend to replace my tyres early - there were still some legs in them at 9k but it was going in for a service anyway. It was on the original P-Zeros which didn't wear well at all - the Michelen Pilot Sports have done much better!

Good luck with the sale - P-Zeros come on so many Porsche these days so high wear rate great for OPC's future bank balances no wonder it seems to be Porsche number 1 tyre by choice [:D]

I guess the purchaser probably feels rather lucky with the only other low mileage example being up at £50k. Who knows! The spyder in black certainly is a stunner!

Indeed. I haven't been keeping an eye on what's been happening lately but it seems in general plenty of Spydermen have sold up so there isn't a shortage with respect to the size of the demand. A few Spydermen eyeing up the 981 Spyder, so more 987s will come to market. I think 987 Spyders will find homes at around £40k all day long and this won't be dented by the arrival of the 981 Spyder which will be in a different price bracket - perhaps £40k vs £60k. I think 987 Spyder prices have firmly stablised but owners aren't currently collecting them and seem ready to sell them on for their next desire quite easily. If they were shooting up, what I sold my 25k miler for a year ago would be nowhere near what a car with half the mileage sells for today. Speaking about private sale prices of course.

I still think the PDK market is now very slow for a 987.2 Spyder. And I still think the 987.2 manuals will be £55k this year if not next. the auto box from year dot has never sold well 2nd hand down the line, most sales on this thread are PDK owners moving on to newer things. Not die hards who want a fun drivers car for the weekend and now feel to old to get into a Elise. The market is big for cars which feel more real and prices will reflect that going forward. Is there even a manual bucket seated car for sale today with spyder wheels ? you just don't see them come up these days

To quote from one of the all time classic road films and I believe the original road film too[;)] Sundance Kid: You just keep thinkin', Butch. That's what you're good at.
