Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

Mr Kellock beat me too it [:)] To add to the subtleties, Carrera is a Porsche model designation which comes from their successes in La Carrera Panamericana endurance race across Mexico. 'Carrera' is Spanish for 'race'. Carrara as Rob says is a type of marble [:)]

Looks like the silver with cocoa is sold now. No longer on PH. Quite a few for sale now. Wonder why those other 2 low mile pdk have been hanging around. Would have thought with such low mileage they would make an excellent summer purchase.

Only 6 in total but shows how price sensitive the market for used Spyders can be ie 2015 the used price has never been this level since launch back in 2010[&o] I bought a 1030 mile used example in 2011 when it was 10 months old - £42000 how much would that be priced up at today

I guess 48-50k or so. I paid 41600 last December with 11400 miles. Only felt it was good value as it was the spec I wanted. The only ones I would buy right now would be the 10k miler with the ceramics or the black one meridian. Seats, wheels and manual were my minimum requirements. Let's see how they get on this summer. I think it's too early to expect prices to rise on them despite the low numbers and the fact it is a great road driving car. Maybe in another 5 -6 years time when cars and technology in general has moved on, then they might inceasingly become seen as novel cars. Let's face it with 4wd hot hatches knocking out 4seconds to 60mph the whole speed race has plateaued and manufacturers are embracing the fact that in this digital world, enthusiastic drivers like to be engaged by their vehicles so feel and interactivity is high on the agenda.

Can someone explain to me how some of these cars have such low mileage? I've done almost 2,000 miles in mine in a week, 1,700 of it from Thursday evening to Monday evening having a great time in it around Scotland? There are many threads on PH about 'values' and I can't help be puzzled by it all? I bought mine to enjoy driving it. Can't personally see this whole rising prices thing lasting much longer. I looked at a 997 GT3 last week, £77K – luckily I came to senses. I give it until October for the bubble to start deflating. Much of it looks like utter bollocks now with cars sticking around when a year ago they were selling in days.

will be testing the market in the near future and may start at £52k! 2012 MY last of build/last of registration 3.3k miles,1 owner and good spec.so a real collectors car! So what or may not i get for my car has to be a benchmark for value of other spyders! As for low miles it is not intended to do low miles but i will not take my car out just to drive 2 miles down the road so when it gets driven it gets driven

I would love to drive mine more but having a 1 year old and a business means that most days start at 6.30 in the gym and end at 7 in the office. Weekends consist of giving the wife a break! The odd chance you get a free hour or 2 to fire her up and find some corners makes it all worthwhile. I've managed 2k miles in 5 months but 700 of them were the drive back from Scotland.

For all of you patiently waiting in the queue for your new Spyders, this is a nice way to spend 5 mins on this Bank Holiday morning. Even with the slightly dubious sound editing ! http://youtu.be/OtfZEXYkmis Enjoy [:)]

Sorry there were no Spyders but 2 previous Spyder owners and a Cayman R, so good enough excuse to post[:)] Enjoyed the Bank Holiday morning with Rob Kellock and Andy Fagan on the Evo triangle and other great roads beyond. Weather was good, car was good, views were good - all good! Thanks guys [:)]

Just put my Spyder on the road after 6 months laid up ..I know I hear you say what a waste of a good car [;)] I was great to get out for a nice blast .When you have not driven it for a time it all feels new again ...windy at speed and harsh ride all come flooding back[:D] . My question when starting it up and letting it idle and up to temperature the noise from the rear right hand side was very LOUD a tappet sound[:'(] .I took it for a longish drive and returning the noise was just a load ,I have had this on previous Boxsters and went away after a run but this noise is very prevalent ..any thoughts is a visit to OPC or call out Porsche assist and get in into the dealers ..
