Sorry Darrell I will amend 'Driven hard' to 'Fly down' []ORIGINAL: DarrellWilsonWell that could have been, probably was, mine. Wouldn't say driven hard, enthusiastically might be a better word.[] Like you, a 'little' disappointed not to see the 981.ORIGINAL: However, I did see White Spyder in car park (field) which had obviously been driven down hard and had gathered a record number of fly's on it!

OK roofs a doddle to put up or down, soundtrack was awesome, in the flesh it's even more impressive looking than the original, interior superb and roof lining finish was fine, clutch action nice and light unlike the GT4 rumor mill which claims its heavy! that must be because its a GT car [] and the short shift feels shorter and sharper than ever Can't wait to drive oneORIGINAL: daro911
It looks more aggressive on the outside, interior and roof worlds apart, sound from that 3.8L bang on the money and rarity will make it a show stopper wherever it goes [8D] As ever Porsche have moved the game on and added a lot of fine tuning in key areas IMOORIGINAL: tyinsky Does look really good. Just not as good as the original.
I guess it depends what you want, I bought my Spyder to be a stripped out weekend car instead of my Exige, so did not want a tarts handbag inside. so imo it's NOT moved the game on, it's a great car but not the same market imo. It's a whole new car now, not a head to head with the old car. In fact it's a 981 with a 3.8 and a crapper roof now. But I guess the only way to get a 3.8 Boxster. The org was a stripped out fun car,(although people speced them up to be a Boxster S) this is a grown up 981 which does appeal to a lot of people. Seems to NICE to be a week end toy now, but a great car if you only want to own 1 car and want something a bit rare and not the norm with all the toys. can you open the boot roof up ? you must be able to some how, and did the roof still look like a 71 MGB ? IMO it sill should have been PDK-s and have a full electric twin skin roof, as it's no stripped out lightweight. the issue I have now it's an every day car is 18mpg, I sold my M3 as 18mpg was painfull. Got to say rather this with a 3.8 and working roof. or in fact just the GTS and get the MPG :-/ if it's a daily.ORIGINAL: daro911It looks more aggressive on the outside, interior and roof worlds apart, sound from that 3.8L bang on the money and rarity will make it a show stopper wherever it goes [8D] As ever Porsche have moved the game on and added a lot of fine tuning in key areas IMOORIGINAL: tyinsky Does look really good. Will have to try to find that on You Tube when I get home. Looking forward to seeing some moving footage and sound of the car.ORIGINAL: kitchens Just watched the Goodwood FOS live stream on Pistonhead's ,the new Spyder in Yellow was doing the hill and it looked and sounded fantastic Yellow is the new White []
Hi John The Spyders arrived last night at the FOS and there was both a white one and a yellow one there today. They were cordoned off because the global launch hasn't yet taken place so we couldn't open the doors and have a sit in. The yellow one did indeed do the hill climb. Will download the photos over the weekend. Regards Tracy

Very kind thoughts flat6 and thank you for the excellent common sense comments as ever[]I will definitely be owing you a drive in her next summer and now we all have to sit back and wait for some road tests to see just how good or in other peoples views bad & ugly this latest Gen 2 Spyder actually is []ORIGINAL: flat6 Looks the business roof up or down and that blue works well too. A chap has posted in the 997 register that he saw the 991 Spyder, so it must look £150K to him [] It looks exactly like i'd expect a 981 derived Spyder to look and with X.73 based suspension plus 3.8 performance, i'm sure you're gonna have fun and that's what it's all about[]. Probably will end up being the most talked about Porsche of 2015 because it divides opinion. That bodes well as the first car was the same in that regard. What the Spyder does is draw attention particularly because there’s plenty who just can't live with one but wish they could. I remember in the early days of my Spyder, whenever it was parked up roof up there were people looking at it and perplexing about how that thing comes on and off. If you showed them you could see some thinking "I wish I could put up with that faff because I would look great in that in the summer top down". But that's what you want in a Spyder, a car that doesn't appeal to the masses. And top down the lines just ooze form over function. Like Italian design, the intended look has driven its shape and design. As we know, for Porsche, the engineering design pretty much always drives the shape, with no additional flair (hence the 918 may not be considered to have the aesthetical flair of the LaFerrari). The Spyder is probably the only Porsche on sale that bucks that trend. Wishing you years of happy motoring with the new toy daro []
I don't see any one saying it's bad. It is another great car , the only boxster with a 3.8. When people say it's moved the game on, some times that's NOT what people want. ( or they do and expect it to really move the game on) Look at the Elise at 20 years old, they don't want to move the game on, the car works as is. so new Spyer vs old Spyder is a moot point, the cars are so far apart each one is what it is now. I have said why I bought mine, to replace a Exige. While the new one is a nice car it does not have a place on my drive unless I have a drive for 5 cars. now back to moving the game on, just think of the looks if it had a R8 trick electric roof and was PDK-s That's a game changer right there for a usable car. 3.8 , trick roof, mega fast shifts, would have been mega. Instead it's a GTS with a 3.8 in it and a manual roof, the GTS looks stunning so not a bad thing people make it out i am saying. But it's far more GTS 3.8 an far less Spyder. Again that does not make it bad, it just is an honest personal opinion. The GTS pic I posted a few posts up still looks stunning.
I must be more short sighted than I thought as I can't see GTS here at all[&o]ORIGINAL: MrDemon Instead it's a GTS with a 3.8 in it and a manual roof, the GTS looks stunning so not a bad thing people make it out i am saying.
