Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

Great spec car and certainly worth top money but I can't love the seat belt passage in white. Seems to cheapen the quality look of the carbon buckets IMO, might look great in the flesh though.

cheaper, newer and a lot less miles plus pcm and no scuffed wheels! http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/porsche/boxster-987-05-12/porsche-boxster-987-gen-ii-spyder-2011/4257237

You've priced yours too cheap, that's your problem. People think it's too good to be true. I hope both find buyers soon as mine will have to go back up for sale before too long and I'd rather there not be too many knocking around for sale at that point.

I did think at starting my car at £52k but even to me seems a bit rich and all it does is help the cheaper cars sell easier. I think my car is priced about right with room for negotiation but most want to offer £45k and some want to take the outright p#%s! IMHO the 2010 car should be starting about £46k and get the wheel done as that looks bad on a car costing that much!I think the price range for Spyders at the moment is £38k for a older high miles, poor spec or condition,no opc warranty etc to £48k for a low mileage late registered prime example.the £10k difference fades when you think that a high mile car may need tyres, brakes, clutch, suspension overhaul etc or as mrD says a £10 k refresh!so suddenly a cheap car is not so cheap!

95% of Buyers are thick though and just see that headline price. just a case of weeding out the guys who want the best spec for the cheapest price on any car for sale. Just about being firm and saying "this car is not for you I think, go and buy the £38k car" buyers do my head in , unless you get a real enthusiast then you find price is not the issue to much and they see the car for what it is at that price. any more than 2 emails I normally write the buyer off, real buyers want to see the car the next day and will commit that day most of the time.

i agree although i do think if you are wanting to sell your car it should be priced at a level it will sell at. These are not fetching 50k atm. The best one that was for sale recently with pccb sale was i believe sale agreed for about 45k prior to owner deciding to keep it for a while longer, if priced right these will sell but not seen many if any sell for more than 46k this year, correct me if im wrong

The issue is prices have been rising, and now 3 are at £50k that's the new top price. When only 1 car was that price people looked at thought too expensive, now it's the norm. Buyers have a choice, spend less have a car with more miles and less spec. The black car as an example has 1k miles it's like buying a new car. Now GT3 prices of 996 and 997 have gone up so much buyers don't have much choice, befor it was buy a Spyder for £40k or a GT3 for £40k 996 and 997 gt3 are now £80k so great news for other rare pork at a 1/3 less price. All it takes now is a car to be put up for £55k and then £50k ones will look cheap. It only takes a few owners to agree on price and stick to it and a new level is born.

Couple of spots of 981 Spyder - not as photogenic as the 987 IMO. http://www.autogespot.co.uk/porsche-981-boxster-spyder/2015/06/08 http://www.autogespot.co.uk/porsche-981-boxster-spyder/2015/06/09

Good point. Tyres, brakes, major service, possibly a warranty along with other little bits that may need a bit of a tidy up after almost 5-years – makes the price a lot different. When I sold my last Porsche I lost count of the amount of people who didn't seem to have an understanding of the market (which, in fairness how would most people know). Whole afternoons taken up showing people, answering questions, listening to offers I'd got no intention of taking. Sold for full asking in relatively little time but weeding out the nonsense is a job in itself. Last two (proper) cars I've bought have involved me being pushy to jump the viewing order, doing as much due diligence as I can within a short period (no PPI on either), and getting the money in someones hand without haggling. All that happens in a matter of hours. If you really want something...

5pm [8D]. Just picked up my 981 Spyder catalogue so will read that later today [;)] http://stjohnswoodhighstreet.com/st-johns-wood-super-car-pageant-2015/

Cars look stunning ..my favourite the little Orange Fiat 500 used to own two of them back in the early 70's brings back memories .If I had my car displayed I would have serious concerns of one of those chrome stands being toppled over on to my pride and joy[:(]
