If anyone can shift a Spyder in record time 911V can []ORIGINAL: rob.kellockFrankly, I'd be surprised if its still for sale by the end of the weekend.ORIGINAL: MrDemon I would say that will be sold with in 2 weeks at 30k dealers still want >40k for them
You do like your sports seats flat6 []
Yes I love it, sold my GT3 to keep the Spyder. I have had 50 cars and it,s the best all round fun car I have owned. Love driving it Just don't use it roof on as it not that nice then.ORIGINAL: flat6 Similarly to aqua blue, red is both rare and desirable on a Spyder and have sold quickly. MrDemon, have you still got yours and how are you getting on with it?
[]Not quite, they are 'acceptable' though[] I had to have them because I needed to install a child seat. Porsche forbid installing a child seat in the buckets. Also, even if I was to disregard that (I wouldn't) and try to find a child seat that fitted in the buckets, you can't have the Isofix anchor points installed in the bucket seats. I really wanted the anchor points as well, so that the child seat is anchored down for when I brake like a Porsche should brake[] (They also install the air-bag disable switch.) I will be on the hunt for some buckets when my son is older. He's only 7 so will be in child seats for a while yet[]ORIGINAL: rob.kellock You do like your sports seats flat6 []
What's interesting is that last summer 911V sold a red, 35k mile car for £29,995 straight away. So they think a similar car has increased in value by £1k.... I don't think that will hang around long at all. ETA in fact I think it could be the same car?ORIGINAL: daro911If anyone can shift a Spyder in record time 911V can []ORIGINAL: rob.kellockFrankly, I'd be surprised if its still for sale by the end of the weekend.ORIGINAL: MrDemon I would say that will be sold with in 2 weeks at 30k dealers still want >40k for them
MrDemon another club member sold his 996 GT3 RS for the first customer Spyder in the country and held similar views to you Had my beast for 2 years now and only put the roof on for the first time since taking delivery back in late December just to make sure it fitted OK and also experience what it was like in the "ON" position I stress without the rear scarf fitted as that would have been far to coupe like for my open air fettish I found it great fun for my few weeks it was up but it's now firmly back in the boot and probably will stay there indefinitely unless the weather gods trick me into using it on a supposedly guaranteed dry day [8D]ORIGINAL: MrDemon Yes I love it, sold my GT3 to keep the Spyder. Spydermen ....i think 911V have undersold that car by at least £5k even with the higher mileage ,I am surprised that they would let it go knowing the demand out there for the car as they appear to know the Porsche market . Still you guys are doing a sterling job in keeping the Spyder to the fore and hopefully drive the demand up even more .Enjoying the posts . Brian
Go get it quick then sell on for a tidy profit Brian !!!ORIGINAL: kitchens Spydermen ....i think 911V have undersold that car by at least £5k even with the higher mileage ,I am surprised that they would let it go knowing the demand out there for the car as they appear to know the Porsche market . The ad says "Selling on behalf of its current owner" so maybe it's what they have to return to the owner in order to sell him a fresh Porsche Glad you are enjoying the posts and we are all waiting for you to don your Spyderman T Shirt sometime soonORIGINAL: kitchens Spydermen ....i think 911V have undersold that car by at least £5k even with the higher mileage ,I am surprised that they would let it go knowing the demand out there for the car as they appear to know the Porsche market . Beware Spydermen's arch nemesis... The evil Doctor S
S model with PDK, PASM, 20 inch alloys and a few other goodies. I cannot believe that Bolton OPC have been kind enough to lend me their 5 day old 100 miles "new addition to the fleet" as a courtesy car. It is very impressive. It would appear that my Spyder fuel gauge has been working fine but unbeknown to us all, it came from the factory with the optional larger fuel tank free of charge! All fixed now and ready for collection at their Cayman launch night.
So you are carrying a lot of extra weight when filled to the brim [] Personally I think the smaller tank was a waste of space (no pun intended) I say this as the fuel is low down in the car so really shouldn't make any diffeence what so ever with a few more gallons sloshing around to the handling or performance [&o] You are in the perfect position to say how inferior overall the Spyder is to your brand new loaner []ORIGINAL: rob.kellock Beware Spydermen's arch nemesis... If you take the rear window out and leave the roof on, it sounds great and the wind noise seems less annoying for some reason!ORIGINAL: MrDemon Just don't use it roof on as it not that nice then.
Mmm. If only it was that easy. Getting back in it just now and, erm, spoiled for choice. Showroom had 3 lovely Caymen, grey, red and brown. Nearly 200 miles in 2 days in the 981 and lots if thoughts. The only thing that disappointed me when I got in the Spyder was the black and white screen for the CDR30. It did look so ladt Century after the new car. Then we hit the Bolton potholes with a crash. And yet, suddenly, it became a comfy pair of old slippers, wrapped around me, subtly communicating every nuance to me. The steering is sublime, perfect even. I know everything about it, the weighting of the controls are perfect, it feels special, can't describe it. Objectively the new car is better. Subjectively I'm not sure I could love one the same way?ORIGINAL: daro911 You are in the perfect position to say how inferior overall the Spyder is to your brand new loaner []Â
Hearing that with a CV like yours, I think i've struck gold in driving terms and I have to seriously consider it as a keeper. Sounds like once a Spyderman always a Spyderman so let's hope Porsche are following this forum [][]ORIGINAL: rob.kellockMmm. If only it was that easy. I hear you Rob. I think it goes to show that if you design a car to be comfortable it will also be a little more detached, even if it's just as capable. The Cayman looked good tonight. It's all grown up and having driven a 981 Boxster, I expect the Cayman to be even more serene. The 991 is also grown up and the Cayman has headed closer to it. I expect it to drive very differently to the 991 but will represent great value for money comparatively. I still think it could do with an identity as the little rebel and go it's own way. Like a chap said on the GT3 thread about having a lightweight Lotus/Alfa 4C from Porsche would be a welcome addition to Porsche's line-up and I know the Cayman isn't intended to be that type of car, but it'd stand out a bit more from it's big brother if it was. For what it is though I think it's a briliant value alternative to the 991 and can't wait to drive one to see if it's lost none of it's compact agile feel. Yes i've driven a 971 Boxster but for some reason i'm thinking the Cayman will feel slightly different...[8|]ORIGINAL: rob.kellockMmm. If only it was that easy.
