Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

Terry said:
Good spec choices, the only comments I would make to the white car spec is to add cruise and go for climate control rather than the basic air con. With PCM, which gives you sound pack as standard, I wouldn't bother with Bose. Spyders are not the quietest of cars and I think it is difficult to hear any real benefit from the Bose.

Climate saps BHP and with the roof off does one really thing you can have one temp one side of the car and one temp the other ?

Some times it just best to have a AC on off switch imo, climate is over rated unless you just want it on 100% of the time set to 21oc

In my cars I tend to want to turn AC off but with climate it's not so easy, so when does AC get used ? most times for that 1st 5 mins when returning to a hot car, or a demist !

Well I'd just say on the brakes IMO the 'steels' seem every bit as good for stopping as any PCCBs I've had, so if you're speccing them for stopping capability alone then that's probably a bit of a waste of money.

If on the other hand you're more concerned about brake dust, weight saving, corrosion, & looks etc then that's a different matter.

One option I spec'd without being really convinced about it, was the speed limit display. I've actually found it pretty useful to be honest and think it's worth having, whether it's worth the money is debatable maybe.

So you could then send it to the scrap yard to be crushed :ROFLMAO:

No I wouldn't do that Brian, I think this has been around before on this thread, Tt always brings a smile to my face when I see something like this.

Someone obviously took a lot of time and care into creating this. I guess if you purchased it you could join the elite ranks of the modified register.

Is this the cleanest Spyder for sale today any where on the planet! I think it is [;)]

[FONT=verdana,geneva"]987 Spyder. 7 speed PDK transmission. First registered 27/04/2011. Finished in Carrara White with full Black leather interior. A 1 owner vehicle supplied new by Porsche Centre Hatfield with full Porsche Main Agent service history from new. First service 22/04/2013 at 848 miles second service (major with plugs) 17/04/2015 at 3177 miles. Both services having been carried out by Porsche Hatfield.

Unmarked 19" lightweight Spyder wheels, hard backed sports seats with seats backs in exterior colour, fully automatic climate controlled air conditioning, full leather extending to door cards and dashboard top, PCM 3.0 touchscreen Satellite Navigation, bluetooth telephone preparation, USB audio interface, PSE (Porsche Switchable Sports Exhaust), Sport Chrono package plus with Sport, Sport Plus and Launch control facility, Chronometer face in white, heated seats, Sport Design steering wheel with paddle shift gear selection, Carrara White instrument cluster dials, cruise control, roll over hoops in exterior body colour, rear park assist, sound package plus, aluminium handbrake from the Porsche Exclusive programme, electric windows / mirrors, PSM (Porsche Stability Management), ABS, power steering, remote central locking and Thatcham Category 1 alarm / immobiliser.

A heavily specified car with options totaling approx £14,000 !

A flawless example and two time Porsche Club Great Britain National concours winner 2014 and 2015 (3rd place) most probably losing out on overall victory due to points docked to compensate for the low mileage and age of car. A car never driven in the wet. Always garaged and driven only without the roof in place. The fabric hood has only been fitted 3 times in the past 5 years, once when the car was new and then at each of the aforementioned Concours events where competition rules stipulate that the fabric cover needs to be in place to participate. This is the cleanest Spyder we've seen. (We've seen and sold more than most). Everything about this car is right even the underside looks factory fresh.

The owner, well known amongst enthusiasts, has, without doubt, made a bigger contribution to the UK Spyder scene than any other. The imminent arrival of a 981 Spyder the sole reason for sale. Perfect condition, perfect provenance and the perfect opportunity. Cars of this caliber don't grow on trees they live in webs and this one's good enough for Peter Parker ! Ideal for the collector and Concours ready for the purpose of show

Very interesting. This company could be the British answer to Singer Automotive in California.

I love those seats.

Depends on what you put up with. Use my heated seats a lot, even on cool days in the summer. Helps particularly in the Spyder as its not well insulated. I wouldn't enjoy the car as much without the heated seats (probably the most useful option on my car).

Driving in France and the Alps before Christmas they were on constantly. Even made me brave enough to take the roof off and the rear panel out.

That said, I don't dispute a naked Spyder, with no radio, A/C, PCM etc that has the lightweight wheels, buckets and PCCB must be a better driving machine for those that have them for occasional use (Which I think most probably are). Got 40,000 miles on mine now.
