Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

Read these comments on PH earlier.

TBH the Caterham was more like a limo in terms of comfort, soft suspension and big wall tyres, Spyder is rock hard and if you hit a bump feels like its going to shatter a wheel

feel as though I have been here before as years ago I went from a Caterham R600 to a new Elise Sc then after 500 miles (over 200 were collecting it) I sold it and switched back to a CSR260 as I hated the Lotus was horrible to drive, slow noisy, uncomfortable ! was only the other day I was saying to my pal that I thought the spyder felt more like an Elise than my other Boxster S ! Hopefully will keep the Spyder a bit longer

Unquote.

Had just returned from 70 miles drive out over some pretty poor roads and thought complete opposite, the Spyder doesn't crash and bang.

H14PDB you car looks stunning in that shot and well done a pucker topless Spyderman [8D]

Do you have the matching interior too[;)]

Yes.

I went for the yellow stitching and seat belts.

Anothper shot to show, I did compromise as got red calipers.

Had another drive out this morning and was paying special attention to damping and general conduct on road. I think this is smoother ride than I had in Cayman, it doesn't crash on potholes, well smaller ones as avoid any big ones.

Also we all agonise on various options for interior and then get into car and it is the feel of gear lever and change, the steering wheel size and for me at least a perfect position with standard buckets.

Plus as getting a few more miles in I let it pull up to 5k rpm and it feels so strong and noise is grand.

Conclusion, it puts a big smile on my face and this is bottom line, what more do you want?

Not sure i like the decals on the new Spyder :/

That would be a no, no from me all round.

And I've no idea what the bit on the front lower wing is doing there[&:]

Maybe a Spyder logo on the Boxster in same place would be more subtle.

As said it's all personal colours specs and so on be very boring if we all had identical cars.

spot the errors

Has anyone got any recommendations for car insurance companies. Just looking for quotes for the 981 Spyder that is due shortly.

I wont need any track insurance but euro cover would be needed.

Thank you

Phil

Drive it like you stole it :ROFLMAO: would think the dealership will keep you right I believe under 4K for the first 1K miles and use the box as much as you can and avoid long runs in top gear ie motorways . No doubt some one else will have another answer .

From memory it doesn't stipulate a rev limit ; it advises not racing or labouring the engine or max revs and trying to avoid short journeys, can't remember the mileage stipulated; I think key thing is getting the engine and fluids up to normal operating temp, and exploring rev range sympathetically without labouring

Just back from a trip to the factory and the "Exclusive" department and their bespoke workshop

Visiting the Exclusive Department in Stuttgart is the only way you can see 100 PTS colours see pic and as many samples of bespoke leathers for your bespoke interior other than doing the trip you will never know what can actually be done if you are prepared to wait the extra lead times and part with Dave & George's tax money :ROFLMAO:

A few pictures of some special leather in pale blue sadly not done justice on iphone camera plus a few other cars on display with Exclusive additions
