Rob not quite PTS but definitely a nudge & wink to a past 911 Turbo Stripe To Sample Martini model back in the day

From an article written in 2008:- What about the Martini connection? Well, it’s not the first car from Stuttgart to adopt the name, after the drinks brand started sponsoring Porsche race teams in a partnership that proved enormously successful. Martini’s colours were white, red and blue, which is why there are stripes on the outside and bright cabin trim in those shades. Note the unusual padded blocks on the seats: these are Fuhrmann chairs, designed to have orthopaedic benefits for occupants. The innovation was deemed too expensive for production, and they never made it any further than these nine cars. However, all Turbo interiors placed the emphasis on luxury rather than race-inspired minimalism – a tradition that continues to this day. On the outside, the Turbo was identified by its wide wheel arches and large ‘tea-tray’ rear wing. For 1978, the engine was moved 30mm further back to improve weight distribution and handling, but the four-speed gearbox remained unaltered. Costing more than £78,000 when new (that’s around £320,000 by today’s standards), this true Seventies supercar was in a league of its own. Along with other early forced-induction 911s, the model set in motion the continuing success of the 911 Turbo.

Those with reasonable excuses excepted, [;)] let's hope some of the "garage queens" enlighten their Spydermen owners as to the joy these special cars can bring when exercised! It is also very rewarding cleaning them back to as new again once you get home!

Not only looks good but also makes the PSE soundtrack inside the cabin sound very good too [8D] Give it a try sometime when you feel you need the suncap on without the fiddly scarf

The look exactly like the wheels used on the 997 Sport Classic. I know they eventually produced a set for the narrow body version of the 997. Does anyone know if they can be fitted to the 987 without problem?

The following comes from the manufacturers directly:- As you can see above the offset of the wheels are not the same but the wheels do fit. Please take into consideration that for the 19" for optical reasons we recommend for the front a spacer of 7 mm (tyre recommendation: 235/35ZR19 Michelin Sport PS2 N2) For the rear a 13 mm spacer is required (tyre recommendation: 295/30ZR19 Michelin Sport PS2 N2). Attached you will find an overview of the application areas of our fuchswheel for your information. Should you have any further questions please feel free to contact us again. Thanks Daro These pic are from the Fuchs site, the wheels don't look the same as the Sport Classic wheel.

It's not on their Porsche page either: http://www.fuchsfelge.de/index.php?id=704&L=1 I actually prefer the Sport Classic wheels. They look somehow 'smoother'. Are you sure Porsche used Fuchs for the latest incarnation?

Not authorative but there a various mentions that the Sport Classic wheels are not made by Fuchs and they are cast rather than forged. I think I read somewhere in the distant past that they are heavier than the forged wheels on the turbo. http://www.autoklubi.com/forum/printthread.php?tid=10246 http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/551301-new-19-fuchs.html There's also a company who is licenced to use the Fuchs name in America http://www.total911.com/news/the-return-of-the-fuchs-brand/ http://fuchsperformance.com/ Still, I really like the 997 Sport Classic wheels and that would be my choice. I think your original pic Daro looks like the Sport Classic wheels.
