Well, I know I can't top that [:D] I'd love to still have my Spyder when I get there, but combustion engines might be banned by then!

Dear John That car has been on my radar since first week of January and was available to you but obviously missed because it wasn't in the RED[:D]

Guys The White one you mention has indeed been up for sale for some time ,in fact i have spoken to the owner and we exchanged emails .I had planned to go down a good few weeks ago and drive it as i had at that time never driven a manual only the PDK at Newcastle ,who have tried to buy his car but he is not budging on price . I them saw the Edinburgh car and was much closer to home so drove it and the rest is history . I phoned the guy back and told him i had bought another car he was a bit put out and said his was the best around and nobody wants RED and i should have bought his .It will come with a full service before he sells it . He is adamant he will not budge on his price i tried to say this is dealer price without the 2 year warranty .Hope he does sell it for what he wants can only help our values . Brian

ORIGINAL: VvrooomM Sport chrono people - does yours light up with side and dipped lights or only when you select in from centre cluster? Thanks
No, mine doesn't light up with side lights or headlights, I don't think it's meant to. Regarding the white car, it is interesting that a clearly cherished privately owned car remains for sale when dealer cars are going before they are even advertised. It seems at this end of the market the security of an established reputable dealer is important to purchasers, a sign if the times to some extent although the provision of a 2 year warranty from Porsche was clearly a very shrewd move. Personally I was hoping the chap would sell quickly at his original asking price and send prices spiralling!

Got a 997 but shouldn't make a difference - The SC dial is lit when you start timing from the centre-console (mine is set to 9:11) and makes a nice display at night - Little things I know :) Otherwise, it doesn't light up.

Haven't ever used mine yet. Clewsey, does the dial illuminate, or is it just the digital display in the middle?

Thanks for the insight Brian. He did you a favour as you ended up with a better car. And if you had've got his car I would've criticised the wheels [;)]

You are as bad as me - non OEM OCD. No silver rim on wheels = non original... Marks out of ten for alignment of crests to valves?

Dial illuminates, nice glow. I hardly use it myself so it's nice that it at least provides some value at night! Whilst trivial really, I regret not having done this previously in my previous car!

Following Brian's revelation of his underside (see post 1626) I thought I would take a look underneath mine Special note for RK.[;)] I am aware the Yellow and Blue Lines painted on the nuts are not aligned - this will be corrected in due course!
