Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

Top555 sold there 987.2 spyder for £47k without it even going up for sale.

was a white, manual with buckets and spyder wheels ofcourse.
Way to cheap in today's market especially as the replacement is just a 3.8L GTS with a dodgy roof and dodgy price tag to match :ROFLMAO:

and a detuned engine ;-p with prices going up on the old cars and down on the new I wonder how long before the old over takes the new price

1/3 less manual cars also circa 100 vs 300 !

look they are both great cars, just annoying Porsche have to keep them pinned below 911's and it ruins them a bit.

any one know the 2 cars and the just sold white one ?

987 Spyder is 1,275kg. Anyone know roughly what it weighs with the easier to live with but heavier heated sports seats, AC, stereo/PCM, and chrono? 50kg? 100kg? Probably been covered somewhere but the thread is closing in on 900 pages! :)

The large-scale adoption of turbocharged engines was met by some [link=http://www.autoevolution.com/porsche/]Porsche[/link] enthusiasts with resistance. Still, all is not lost for those who adore the wailing of the freely aspirated flat-six. [/link] The [link=http://www.autoevolution.com/news/2017-porsche-911-gt3-facelift-9912-looks-ready-for-production-109421.html]2017 Porsche 911 GT3 (991.2)[/link], for example, will continue to sing its song through a mildly updated 3.8-liter naturally aspirated six-cylinder engine. Moreover, it appears that the facelifted Boxster Spyder and Cayman GT4 will be motivated by an updated version of the existing 3.8-liter boxer engine. This information comes courtesy of August Achleitner, the director of product lines for the 911 and 718. Speaking to [link=http://www.drive.com.au/motor-news/porsche-718-range-to-expand-20160719-gq9c92.html]Drive[/link], Achleitner confirmed that the flat-six is here to stay when the time comes for the Boxster Spyder and Cayman GT4 to add the 718 prefix. The explanation will make jaws drop. "Six-cylinder turbocharged engine wouldn't fit," the Porsche official declared to the Australian motoring publication. "Naturally aspirated [like] we have today, and most likely we will offer versions in the future, like GT4 for example. We keep this line of naturally aspirated engines in the GT3 and GT3 RS and so on, as well as GT4, we will develop it." Indeed, there is a God. As far as the 718 Boxster GTS and 718 Cayman GTS are concerned, the official made it clear that this version will adopt the force-fed 2.5-liter flat-four. In [link=http://www.autoevolution.com/news/porsche-718-cayman-s-races-718-boxster-s-in-new-commercial-106862.html]S specification[/link], the unit is good for 350 PS (345 horsepower) and 420 Nm (310 pound-foot) of torque. I have this gut feeling the GTS variants will be tuned to produce 15 or maybe 25 ponies more than the S models. In related news, the 2019 Porsche 911 (992) will be offered with an array of turbocharged mills and, if we’re lucky, a handful of naturally aspirated engines as well. Porsche is planning to offer a hybrid powertrain in each of its model lines. That includes the 992 as well, as confirmed by Oliver Blume, chairman of the executive board at Porsche, and board member Lutz Meschke. Mmmm not so sure on the BRC ...the wheels colour looks nicer than the Satin finish TBO . In hindsight should have specked them on the 981 still a pain to keep clean even on Satin .The quality of the finish on the 987 Silver wheel is much better than the 981 wheels .

for those who like jag and fancy a very rare car and a soft top.

there is a Project 7 just come up for sale at £160k

Its supercharged 5.0-litre V8 produces a claimed 567bhp and 502lb ft, allowing for a limited top speed of 186mph and a 0-60mph time of 3.8sec,

no idea how rare these are (62 cars listed on how many left) but this one is only on 760 miles so like new.

bit of a WOW and of course remove that while sticker !

Jaguars F type the project 7 pays homage to Jaguars 7 victories at Le Mans, production was for only 250 cars with only 80 of these being sold into the UK. The car was immediately sold out after being showcased at Goodwood and demand has seen values continuing to climb. This particular car is the only one to be finished in Aston Martin Lightning Silver at the cost of £25,000! , Without doubt a car for the future. Only one ever to roll off the line in Lightning Silver. Xenon headlamps? They must be the new fangled low output type though as there seems to be no washers.....bit of a hole in the foot for a fast'ish car, not exactly the best spec. [:D]

T'is a beauty though...

Where did you hear it has been sold ? The car is my one on sale or return. spoke to them earlier and they have only just finished prepping it for sale. With a few people coming to see it this weekend

For the very, very best selection of Spyders go to the national event at Silverstone this weekend. None may be for sale though[:-]Staying at a B&B and three Spydmen in residence. Weather looks good so I'm starting to drool[;)]

Agree John.

Everyone please look on the Boxster Evolution display and also on the Register parking display a real treat of Spyders in attendance .
