Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

Well done kitchens and cars looking good despite top up :ROFLMAO:

Not sure, hood looks to short looking on the fins may just be the vid clip ... .

Robert

12 Deg and blowing 40MPH winds I think it was a wise move ...some did venture out topless, only two Spyders in the display a Black 987 and one Yellow 981 one on track

Will current Spydermen buy the next Spyder if it is a 4???

I doubt it. A 6 cylinder naturally aspirated engine is the big draw for me and, I suspect, many others too

Hmmm. Not sure I would buy one. I can only see the list price increasing beyond the 981 spyder list price (in itself quite an increase from the 987 to 981) which would make it a relatively expensive car.

I don't think so, the 981 is such a great car I think a more powerful 4 pot would actually feel like a step backwards. It would certainly feel less special.

I think I would rather add a 987 Spyder to the garage instead.

Trouble is, I think the next one will actually be a 6 pot, so that will cause me some issues !!

Not for me. Part of the draw was 911 motor in a mid engine etc etc. Maybe the 991.2 3.0 turbo finds it way in there in which case I would consider it but I doubt it will. Is 718 spyder likely to be as pretty because the 981 is a magnet in this respect.

Definitely would have to be Flat 6 for me to continue being a Spyderman but as the Spyder isn't a GT car it would make corporate sense if it had a really hot version of the new flat 4 turbo and try and boost the 718 flat 4 image [8D] I currently know of 3 981 owners acively looking elsewhere as they are so underwhelmed by the drive and soundtrack of the 718's! 718 Spyder

Spyder31 the 987spyder with a few well chosen extras in 2010/11 was £58-60k list in 2016 the 981 spyder circa £65-67k so not really a huge increase over 5/6 years so the next may be around £70kish depending on spec.

As for the next spyder if there is one I would say at least 2019 and if it is a 2020 model year then like all Porsche cars being built after late 2019 will be turbo/hybrid! So anything with a na engine needs to be built in next 2 years.

hi Robert, are the 981 owners non Spydermen? would have thought that there will be some news of any next Spyder within next 6 months Hi Andrew - All 3 were either 981 or 981 S owners [&:] definitely not Spydermen:ROFLMAO:

I won't be replacing my 981 S( near enough GTS spec) with a 718 - my prolonged test drive left me underwhelmed as you mentioned

in all probability it will be with a 991.2

Whilst returning from FOS, and queue jumping on M25, I ended up pulling alongside another Spyder. 987 & 981 together, lots of double takes from other drivers, and probably will never happen by chance again in my lifetime.

Anyone looking for a nice silver Manual Spyder 987? One with 13,000 miles at OPC Bournemouth for £49k

Doesn't have buckets, so my search continues.

Did you win Robert?
Hi Dyllan - No and rightly so as my car was far too younger a puppy and far too few miles on its speedo but many of the cars there were very mint and immaculate I must say - good fun evening and opportunity to mix it with the bigger dogs :ROFLMAO:
