£2k price drop for the ex press 19k mile Spyder 😱@ Leeds Porsche

if no one likes talking prices why keep posting about price drops !
With the greatest of respect to you Mr D on your more favoured forum over at PH they talk about bloody prices 24/7 on a certain 308 page section of it and when not banging on about £££'s its how many have sold this week this month this year etc

If you paid more attention to this part of the www we rarely discuss values because the majority of posters are simply proud owners who enjoy the actual cars and irrespective of its worth pride of ownership is actually where its at imo

I have left PH to many nasty people about on it, in fact Social media is going down hill, every one wants to have a go.

The downside of Social media imo have over taken the up sides. You even get a lot of "personal" posts on this forum ,but people come and go as they buy and sell Spyders, leaving the org owners here.

It should be fun and people should be allowed an opinion without getting personal, On PH 10% are just very nasty, and not directed to me, directed to many people, a few have bought that over to here and deem it ok to make nasty personal comments. It is what it is I guess, but no one mods the PH forum so you end up with 20 pages of name calling.

How much were they advertised for? Can't see the price now. Thanks
Circa £47900 for pdk & similar price for the manual too[8D]

I think the big price differential between 981 - 987 Spyders helps the original to sell for top $ and very quickly too[;)]

If its a weekend plaything the 987 still has heaps going for it and over £30k saving too

what like a working roof :p

987.2 are the new thing it seems, takes people a long time to catch on, 7 years later and NOW they start selling lol !!!!

I see the PCCB manual car (sister of mine, one of 3 ) car posted on PH has a bout 5 or 6 people after it.

Quote: working roof

.....and nicer side windows! 👍 😎

earlier in the year I was trading my 987 spyder in for a 981 spyder at my opc and having to pay a significant amount on top. Kind of glad I didn't now as not sure I could justify such a significant amount in my own head on top of mine. Although the 981 is a fantastic looking car and sounds immense......if only I could afford both......like some people on here! :ROFLMAO:

981 Boxster Spyder roof problems

I am a member of a predominently german based 'Spyder owners Club', although there are at least 3 UK members. Their website/forum has been reporting problems/issues withe the folding roof around the area of the fins. here is what they have been posting (apologies for the rather poor Google Translate translation of the original german post): Stand 08/03/2017: Should you be concerned, and need the FIN another SOC member, we will give you the contact (if your is not always in contact). For privacy reasons we give we know FIN out directly. This makes your then another. For the region of Central Franconia[<font][<font] alex987 has reached the Porsche Service Center Nuremberg-Schweinau a "precedent", with replacement of the roof on warranty. For questions about this report to him directly by contact information and contact person then come ASAP on the small official channels , then you can watch plead his case.

I'll post up the four diagrams/photos too

Well, I have just checked the roof on my car and there is a problem:

- the righthand rear corner is okay (see first pic), but on the lefthand rear corner of the roof, the fabric is indeed tearing along the sewing/seam.

Unfortunately, it seems that I can only post one photo per post. This pic is of the rhs. The next two pics/posts will show the lhs.

I am visiting my nearest PC (in Chester) this coming weekend and will post up what they say

An article in Evo on N/A engines v downsized turbo

The upshot has been a sense that recent naturally aspirated performance cars, from 981-generation [link=http://www.evo.co.uk/porsche]Porsche[/link] [link=http://www.evo.co.uk/porsche/boxster-shttp%3A//www.evo.co.uk/porsche/718-boxster]Boxsters[/link] to [link=http://www.evo.co.uk/ferrari]Ferrari[/link] [link=http://www.evo.co.uk/ferrari/458/7063/ferrari-458-spider-review]458s[/link], are cars to buy now. In some cases prices have risen markedly. the same thing appears to be happening with manual gearbox cars, too, as they face the similar prospect of extinction. Combine the two and you have a powerful force in the market – if it’s a great car and has the right badge on the nose to start with, that is.

It’s still rather early to know what will happen in the Porsche market. Of course, the [link=http://www.evo.co.uk/porsche/911-turbo]911 Turbo[/link] has always been a downsized, turbocharged car in a world of extravagant supercar rivals – that’s always formed part of its appeal. however, the gen2 [link=http://www.evo.co.uk/porsche/911]991 Carrera[/link] models and the new 718 [link=http://www.evo.co.uk/porsche/718-boxster]Boxsters[/link] and [link=http://www.evo.co.uk/porsche/718-cayman]Caymans[/link] have switched from naturally aspirated flat-sixes, so it’ll be very interesting to see how they do over the coming year or two. Certainly, at the moment the word is that good gen1 991s and last-of-the-line [link=http://www.evo.co.uk/porsche/boxster-s/13932/porsche-boxster-gts-on-spains-greatest-road]981 Boxsters[/link] and [link=http://www.evo.co.uk/porsche/cayman-s/7366/porsche-cayman-gts-review-price-and-video]Caymans[/link] are very much in demand, with traders suggesting to us they ‘can’t get enough’ of these cars, particularly the 981s.

Checked my roof today and it looks ok - seems to sit a bit further away from the plastic parts than in your photos. Not up (or at least under tension) much though.
