Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

You are quite correct but now I have had a fully loaded fat boy spec Spyder should the opportunity ever arise to order a brand new 981 Spyder (subject to funds available & Porsche making it) I could get very close to my ideal spec indeed I hope today is the closest my garage queen ever gets to seeing snow [&o]ORIGINAL: rob.kellock Car is looking great there Rob. The funny thing about ideal spec is you don't necessarily know best at the time. I very nearly opted for a build to order car and I wouldn't have bothered with sports exhaust, parking sensors or sports chrono - they weren't on my 911 and I didn't see the point. I would have spent the money saved on PCM3, white dials and white roll over hoops. Sports exhaust is my favourite option, I only ever drive in sports mode, the parking sensors are useful with the restricted rear visibility, I've gone off white dials, am happy with black roll over hoops and use a light weight plug in Garmin when I need sat nav! No regrets.
Dyllan that maybe because that's my local OPC too []ORIGINAL: dyllan That green 911 looks very similar to one they had at my local, opc Hatfield when I had my 987 in for the new engine ,Robert
ORIGINAL: flat6 bottom of http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=719756&mpage=67&key=buckets򶩘 Never expected there'd be anything to debate but its been interesting. PSE is a must have for most as are the bucket seats. Assuming no-one has forgotten that PDK is an option, all went manual. Sports chrono certainly is recognised as adding much to the driving experience. Then the choices deviate more and it's more down to comfort. Rob has controversially put heavy climate with lightweight buckets[8D]. I've not opted for the PSE soundtrack, instead going for the visual stimulus of hide. This has lead to ridicule and damage of reputation[:-]. Homerdog & John either don't need a phone and/or don't need a radio either (radio being free I can't tell if you'd opt it but can deduce you dont want the phone). Daro just needs to delete the radio/phone & his will be just as Porsche intended[] John is the odd one out on seats but who can argue with him as he's held out relentlessly to find a car with his preferred spec. Is he more wrong about the seats than I am about PSE?[8|] Makes me realise i'd really like buckets to finish off the car, also that it's a real bargain for buckets to be standard on the Spyder. When my son is older (child seat) I may seriously consider finding someone who wants/needs to swap seats. Wouldn't pay for the upgrade. Including the Cayman R's out there, it might be possible to find someone to swap. I also realise i'm the odd one out on PSE. Daro, read your other post. On track the thing I think about most is braking and steering rather than noise. On the road I like PSE but get more thrill from the acceleration. If there was a Porsche powerkit i'd consider that before PSE. No one has opted the 'wrong' wheels, so alongside the buckets, another big tick for Porsche. ORIGINAL: flat6 Spyderwhite, Kitchens, We Spydermen previously debated what options we would choose if were limited to 5. Below you will see our choices. Now that we're back on that subject, i'd like to invite you to add your choices. So, if you were spec-ing a Spyder from new and was limited to just 5 options, which would you choose. Note that whilst the radio is free, as it's needed for mobile phone connectivity, if you're choosing mobile phone functionality and radio, we'll count those together as just ONE of your options. If you are only choosing the standard radio, don't include it on your list[]ORIGINAL: flat6 bottom of http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=719756&mpage=67&key=buckets򶩘 Never expected there'd be anything to debate but its been interesting. []Hadn't seen your post when I posted. 3 cup holders for a 2 seater! Excessive drinking and driving is not good - you'll forever be having to pull over to empty your bladder[]ORIGINAL: kitchens O-K .....3 cup holders then instead of 2 []
What did you mean rob?ORIGINAL: rob.kellock Homerdig wins.
Seconded homerdog wins I will be buying that one off him for sure[]ORIGINAL: rob.kellock I quite like my choices but line them all up and you'd grab the keys of the Riviera Blue car. Surely?[]
