I have been told LOI's count for nothing now anyway so you have not lost anything.
Are they saying that because production will be unlimited?
I was told the ground rules had changed and it was basically based on your Porsche loyalty history 🤥
Why is this still relevant if production is going to be unlimited? I don’t think we have the full story on availability yet . . . . .

Unlimited production of GT4s and Spyders? We may not yet have the full story but I'd doubt they're going to be freely available. However, with no replacement in sight at the moment, 982/718 production is scheduled to run out to 2022/23 so there's more opportunity for Porsche to increase production numbers over those for the 981, subject to build-slots being available.

Plus, there are n/a F-6 versions of both the Boxster and Cayman in the offing which will meet most buyer's requirements for a road rather than a track-biased chassis set-up.

Doesn’t matter how well it drives - it’s not as pretty as the previous version. Let’s re-open this thread when the RS runout model is announced.

Similar; I’ve been offered one of the 2 2019 slots; still can’t decide if it’s the direction I want to go ie more weight, same/similar performance , more money vs what I’m sure will be a great car but not as I see it a game changer.

Off to Goodwood Sunday so that might help

Any other Spyder owners going to FOS on Sunday ? Im going but can't take the Spyder as I'm being chauffeur to 3 others! (wife, son and his girlfriend)

Yes, we’re going in on Sunday, and will be parking up our 987 Spyder - it’s the first time in umpteen visits that we’ll have brought the car, so have treated it to upgraded parking somewhere new the start line! I really hope that the new version is on show, as it’s a long journey from Yorkshire to miss a viewing ( even if i’m not worthy enough to be allowed to buy one!). Looking forward to any updates in the next few dates as to whether / where the car is in show.

In action at GFS

Two Spyders at GFS today, one in the showroom and the other on the track (as above). TBH you have to look very closely to spot the difference between 981 & 718 unlike the change from 987 to 981. Loved the red 911 with retro wheels in the middle of the Porsche showroom.

If you goto - [link]https://www.instagram.com/rokenr/ [/link] then click on the stories,, you can hear the Spyder go up the hill. Its not as loud and i think lost the pops but still a nice sound to me.

Yes, AP confirms that the 2020 production numbers will be higher than with previous Spyders. He also says it still sounds great despite the particulate filter. 😀

No surprises there then :ROFLMAO:

He didn't say it sounded better, looks better or rides better on our fabulous potholed roads so really keen to see and hear it for myself and when you put the now missing bucket seats back in as he said they are a must have option the Spyder then lists out dearer than the GT4 this time around[&:]

Interesting to see the fun roof version is badged 718 Spyder while the tin top is just a GT4 as before

Rob,

I think the Spyder badge alone is reserved for the precious 911. The use of 718 is odd given that Porsche marketing have been at pains to claim its 4-cylinder heritage. 982 or Boxster would have been more appropriate prefixes I would have thought.

Jeff I think legin makes a valid point that the 981 rump declares P O R S C H E Spyder only - hence my confusion why the GT4 correctly IMO drops the F4 tag 718 but the Spyder didn't!

I am sure the marketing suits will have a ready mad bit of BS to explain this just like all previous GT department cars never have parking sensors but now these 718's do [&:]
