Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

Ah! Yes Rob, you can tell I'm a tin-top man - got my Spyder and Speedster mixed up..!

Even more odd then that Porsche should make such a basic error.

Jeff

Maybe Porsche marketing people wanted the 718 designation on it so the normal person on the street can identify the car as a Boxster model, as most normal people who engage me in conversation about the car do not have a clue what it is .

That thinking would surely apply to the Cayman model too [&:]

In the meantime Red Roof anybody

Given the GT4 ride lacks compliance, will the GT based 718 suspension put people off the car or attract new buyers?

Also I'd prefer the bucket seats, the view (at 2:55) of the standard seats makes them look like they have an ill-fitting hood with the red leather to black alcantera (one of those things I can't unsee).

First proper test reviews might hopefully reveal how it rides compared to the old 981 fixed set up

In the meantime a Porsche 718 GTS PDK has a 0-62mph of 4.3 or if launched 4.1secs figures from the Porsche website

So for now the fastest 718 is neither the GT4 or Spyder [] Very strange in the hierarchy usually laid down Porsche

If this is a fair reproduction of how it sounds in the flesh then I’ll be VERY disappointed. My 981 GTS sounds so much better.

Actually Rob, I think you'll find that more correctly the Spyder's a soft-top GT4 this time round. [;)]
