Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

Yes out of warranty , Precision Porsche are a specialist center with full Porsche approval with access to Porsche diagnostics. Service is carried out according to manufactures requirements with a system scan and function check. Service book stamped . All the technicians are fully Porsche trained and have come from OPC’s to work there.

Can’t say about future values, but in my opinion as long as the work is completed correctly , why should it effect the value .

OPC Nottingham have quoted me £995 Inc VAT for Major / Spark plugs and Brake fluid change.

Local Porsche Indy is £400 cheaper!

Is a OPC stamp really worth £400 if i sell, which i never want too anyway!

On another note, just added a 996 C4S manual to keep the 981 Spyder company! The PSE is very good!!! [:D][8D]

If you ever want to sell to the OPC then its a porsche tax you need to pay. If this doesnt concern you and the car is more than three yers old then specialist is fine in my experience.

That is the worst looking combo ..no wonder they are selling it [:D] must have been on medication when they specked it up :ROFLMAO:

just imo

Wheels are an easy fix to paint in a lighter colour maybe a bargaining point if one likes the rest of the combo.[:D]

Dam lot of money.

Would not be my choice.

It was probably specked by a sales person.

This was the case when the 987 Spyder was born. No orders by customers and the sales people were asked to spec cars to get them into showrooms. The colour flavour of the time was White, hence so many white 987 cars. Other sales people thought the 987 would look more appealing for sale with the turbo wheels.

Another PC flipping for a flipper :ROFLMAO:

Great spec terrible price []

I popped by the OPC to take a look. Nice, but a couple of minor surface blemishes would annoy at that money. It's high spec, and a couple of personal touches (eg model designation of "Spyder" only and front PPF) suggest it wasn't ordered as a flipper?

The OPC also have 2 new GT4's in the showroom along with 2 other Spyders in the compound. And still no call to say I can have an allocation [8|]

I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't get that call in the coming months as world economies are in free fall like perhaps never seen before

Stay Safe and keep up the Distant Socialising something the past 7 days of walking around 70 miles in London is definitely not happening anywhere near enough so far[]

You know what - I don't know what I'd do if they did call at the moment!

I had a short run out in the 987 Spyder to fill up with fuel (just in case I can use it a bit in the coming weeks), and it made me think about why I'd want to swap out for the (current) latest best thing. In favour of the 987: Nice enough noise, the connection is good, and it's pleasantly swift.

To idle away time, what are other Spyder owners thoughts - if you could choose, would you stick or twist: 987 or 718? (For the purposes of this argument, I'm going to leave out the 981 option).

If you want to twist this cracking example has just had a £2k price drop - List Price today would be a result but they won't be fetching list price even for much longer [:'(]

Wanted to order a 718 Spyder but was told as I had no buying history with Porsche main dealerships it wouldn't be possible, even as a cash buyer. I have owned my 987 Spyder for 30months now and have only used it on 3 occasions so wasn't prepared to shell out another £50k plus especially to a dealership that didn't want my custom or where encouraging me to buy a car I didn't want with the expectation of in the future to be invited to order a brand new Spyder.

So instead I decided to upgrade my daily driver to a new Range Rover P400E autobiography.

I'm really happy to keep my 987 Spyder it is a special occasion car and although it might not be as fast or as convenient to use the feeling when you drive it is visceral and that's good enough for me. In my opinion the 987 with those curvaceous lines is still better looking which I believe will stand the test of time.

It would be interesting to know how many 718 Spyders are being manufactured. Not many I guess if the Porsche dealerships are turning down genuine buyers!
