Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

Doesn't seem too overly priced this one. Not sure what list with the options would of been but I like certainly like it. Still a lot of money though!!

Wednesday 13th May - Finally cars can be legally driven again for "fun"

People may drive to outdoor open spaces irrespective of distance, so long as they respect social distancing guidance while they are there, because this does not involve contact with people outside your household.

Can't wait [8D]

Is it me or does this one have the fever? Needs dark glasses!

In line with the relaxed lockdown restrictions, I went out in the (987) Spyder yesterday. Maybe it’s a consequence of the current situation, but it just felt like why would I want anything more (newer, better) than this? In reality, it is fast enough, handles delicately, sounds nice and looks fantastic. Is anyone else getting a sense of contentedness with, and appreciation of whatever they’ve got as a result of the weird situation we’re all in together at the moment? Feels like we no longer need to keep trying to run up the down escalator!

My thinking is very similar. Whilst my 987 is only a ’Spyder look ‘ 2.9 , and just off SORN, I wonder if it is more than enough for our real world roads. My deposit on a 718 Spyder is in question.

Yes - I was incredibly tempted by the 718 Spyder, but couldn’t get anywhere near an allocation from the 4 local OPC’s. As things are now, maybe that was a good thing. I don’t want to think how I’d come to a decision if they came back to me now with the option?!

I really miss my RS60 Spyder I sold 5 years ago. One of a number of great things about it was the steering. With a geo from Center Gravity the feel was perfect. The way you could place the car on the twisties with pinpoint accuracy and feel everything through your fingertips as you accelerate out was sublime. I guess this important feel is missing from the 981 and 718, and hence ‘upgrading‘ becomes unnecessary?

In addition the 718 is a lot heavier than even the 981 Spyder?

Your car has just been sold, without the plate, and is coming back home to London with just over 11k miles on the clock [8D] You might see it out and about this summer

Nice one Rob! Only 11k miles what a shame!! I hope the new owner puts 50k on it like I did on my RS60 - life’s too short not too ;)

Thanks for the mention Daro911

Yes, it is time to sell her. I believe the only Viper Green Spyder in the UK. There was a tracker of PTS cars being kept on Rennlist, but I can't find it now. I think we got to three Viper Green Spyders in the world the last time I looked. She really does stand out, for all the right reasons. Supposed to be a 'forever car' but things change.

I've also listed her on Autotrader now, as PistonHeads are limiting on photos, etc:

[link=https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/202006069852315?advertising-location=at_cars]Porsche Boxster 3.8 981 Spyder (s/s) 2dr PTS, PCCB, 1own, FSH, £20k Opt[/link]

Contact me through here or the listing sites if interested.
