Brighton Hoon Resurection ?

Oli, the other three "Forums" are the 924,928, 968 sections on here (PCGB) [:)]!! Craig will be well welcome in his 997 Colin (as long as he lets me have a go [:D]). Glenn will be coming along in his 996 GT3 []! Pete', it would be nice to see you if you can make it [:)].

Hi guys. Well the date is drawing nearer (26th Joon). I haven't heard much from anyone lately as to who's coming so, I'm thinking of binning the idea for good. A bit of a shame I know but, I feel there isn't a lot of interest this time round [8|]. Also, Brighton and Hove Motor Club have switched their date and venue this year, from Stanmer Park to Hove Park and, it clashes with the "Festival of Speed" on the 5th of Joon. The only "free weekend" on Madeira Drive is on the 26th of Joon as previously stated (this is where we all usualy park up for tyre kicking/photo's/getting poisoned at Brian's café etc [:'(]). So, we could either meet up early at Clacketts Lane Services on the M25 (West bound), Blat down to Madeira Drive for the usual shenanigans and then, disperse early (Mid morning) as it won't be any good going for a drive out round here after about 10.30 hours as, the roads round here are chocker [:(]!! So, there it is in all it's fabled glory! Do you want to come all this way for three or four hours by the sea and, Brekkie at Brians or, shall I kick it into touch? The choice is yours guys. Please give me a definitive show of hands THIS WEEK if you still want it to go ahead (I need to know how many plaques to order)or, the meet gets binned. Thank you guys and gals.

Pete' (Ex Skyline) [8D]

Forgot to say, I still haven't heard a word from anyone on the 924, 928, 968 forums so, I guess none of them are interested. [8|]

The lack of interest is sad, but we are having a meet up at grasshopper inn on the 21st of may come along Pete

I would of happily come along to the Grasshopper meet Martin but we are having a family wedding on that day. No worries Rob'. I think I'm not going to bother organising meets anymore if this one doesn't go ahead as planned [8|]. I'll give it a few more days to see if anyone wants to meet up. Not one single word from the other sections on here. Shame. Don't know why I bother?

Hi Pete, Sadly it's out for me as it's now a 12-hour round trip. Living so far away now means being careful what meets to attend unfortunately. [&o] The 924/28/68 forums are pretty dead here, most of them seem to post on this area more than there own! :ROFLMAO:

You have a singular talent for scheduling this for the one weekend a month that I have to work. I'm even on a different weekend this year but it seems the hoon has moved to match. Sorry, Pete. I will be chained to my desk. Have fun.

Yeah, I know what you mean Paul. This is defo' the best section on here [8D]! Glen, don't worry mate, work has to come first unfortunately [8|]. Andre', it don't look very promising mate [:(]. Thank you for your support , i'll let you know what I'm going to do by the weekend. Cheers guys, at least no-one will be able to accuse me of trying to poison you all at Brian's cafe this year [:'(].....[:D]!!

I would have been up for it too, and possibly David again, we drove over in his car last time - I was hoping we could travel in convoy this year, (though a mouse has been having a nibble on the cab steering rack gaiters and plug leads [] so a bit of work before the MOT). I think previously the date was struck early which helped with attendance. No reason you should have to pay for the plaques either would have happily donated! #

cheers,

Tony

Oh well, not to worry Tony. Such a shame, especially as I announced the date mid January to give everyone plenty of notice [8|]. Also, as It was my little gathering in my home town, I never minded paying for the plaques or breakfast, my company sponsored it all.

Anyway, that's all ancient history now and, doesn't matter any more as.....The Brighton Hoon is now CANCELLED! Due to lack of interest. I don't know why I bothered.

Cheers Guys.

(Sorry Andre' [:)]).

Sorry I dont visit the forum as often as I should, the date was in my diary, if there is a change and the Hoon gets reinstated I would still be up for it
