Brighton Hoon Resurection ?

Thanks anyway to Pete for trying hard to arrange this event. The last one I went on was a great day out (apart from my rear silencer dropping off in Brighton on the way back leading to a very loud return journey)

Maybe that should change, the 968 is a series 3 944 afterall.

Then again, maybe it shouldn't. As far as I am aware, Rutland is the ONLY 944 specific event. We do deserve something to call our own...

Shame we were looking forward to a weekend in Brighton. Lets try and meet somewhere in the middle of the country during the summer.

I didn't think you guys were coming Col', as I haven't heard from you in such a long time [:)]. Yes, it would be nice to meet up in the Summer mate. I'd be up for that [8D]! Haven't really driven the 968 since I bought it so, need to give it a good long blat! Text me you're thoughts. A few of us are also going to the Nurburgring in September (for my 60th [&:]). Do any of your lot fancy coming along?

I've often fancied a trip to the Nurburging, experienced advice suggests renting a car there the first time though. The costs involved if things go wrong can be huge.

The cost of renting a "Ring" car is huge too! I always drive there, do about fifteen laps over a long weekend and, then drive home again. As someone once said "If you're not living life on the edge, you're taking up too much space"! [;)]

Well I did say the first time. Have you ever worked out what it would cost for track closure, recovery, storage, armco etc if it went wrong ? I've read some UK insurers wont give cover there too.

[:D] I've got 50 miles of great back roads on my doorstep that car and bike mags use for road tests. I've done 40k down there on 2 and 4 wheels over the last 15 years.

When in September are you going ? I would like to try and get a meet set up somewhere in the middle of the country. Taton Park in Cheshire have a big show in August I think. That's a 4 hour run down for us. Either that or a weekend in a suitable location in the midlands or even over towards the Snowdonia Loop that all the car mags use. Is that the roads that you are talking about Blade7 ? If so do you know of a decent local hotel etc with good secure parking and a bar that we can all invade sorry stay at for a weekend ?
