Building a 400bhp+ 2.5 ltr 944 Turbo

You'll need all those bits to extend the front of the shack, or the front end of your car will be turning pink by August 😆.

Ahh...the car isn't fully in yet as there's a stack of roof tiles in the way behind it. The carport is actually 200mm short but once I have erected a roof section between workshop and carport full cover will be achieved...🙂

The car looks beautiful. Fantastic! I'll keep mine covered up I think...
Good advice about gravel...pea gravel also gets stuck in the tyres, so 20mm stuff is better, or Type 1 stone. Avoid Cotswold gravel...lovely colour but turns to dust when driven on. Spring job is to gravel my parking area...an 800kg bag should do it.

Yes type 1 is on the cards...my son supplied FOC what I had at the old place but I'm a bit further out now plus it will take a fair bit to cover the area here . Mind you he's just bought a big house in King's Langley which isn't far from me...I bet he'll be able to get gravel to that house...🤣

Type1 is not intended for the top layer, so looks rubbish, and is dusty. If you're thinking about using a scissor lift there, it needs to go on a reinforced concrete slab really. Shouldn't be too expensive for a small area. Have a look on the 'Paving Expert' website for ideas.

It must be more than 20 years since I last had bonnet insulation on the car, it's amazing how more refined the car sounds..:) This kit is from Desig911, pretty good fit, just needed to trim one edge that had an extra part on it.

You added the under-bonnet insulation that Porsche themselves removed so as to try and keep under-bonnet temperatures more manageable?

Well, it’s not like it’s actually going to get driven I suppose :ROFLMAO:

Whey aye man, I'll have some cheap like MO30 calipers, discs and pads for sale soon though. :p

And I knew how big the calipers were, just hadn't paid attention to how they bolted on .

Hi Pete,
What kind of paint was used on your car?
Was it water based?

Hi

I can't swear to the paint as I didn't check when completed. I can say though that I did discuss paint at the start stating my preference for the original Porsche paint which was Sikens, I was told that using Sikens wasn't a problem so reasonably sure that this was used. Sikens is Acrylic.

Cheers

Pete

I'm not normally a fan of red on a 944, but that looks great. I reckon I'd hang some tarps on the outsides of the car port during the winter months though.
