Cayman GT4: Where are we up to now?

Sorry, this will not help those who missed out[&o] http://youtu.be/ZYEruJ-Z0y0 http://youtu.be/2GmLnDmBW10

ORIGINAL: ralphmusic Will the automatic throttle-blipping for downshifts when in Sport mode annoy some people?
Apparently it only happens in sport plus mode so in sport mode they can still practice being race drivers [:D]

Does say on the right that he's won a Cayman GT4 + £10,000 in cash, and if you watch the video they explain that they are just using a std Cayman because the GT4 isn't out yet! Odd thing is that you can still buy tickets for another GT4 so BOTB clearly have more than one build slot confirmed. With BOTB and all the 918 owners together, there is no wonder that there aren't any cars left for the rest of us. [&:] Just look at the car choices of the runners up!!!! Me thinks they better have lots of GT4 slots! Runners Up Prizes » £200 Game Credit Awarded to: » Mr Grant Taylor (GB) - Porsche Cayman GT4 (+ £10k Cash) » Mr John Fraser (GB) - Jaguar F-Type V8S Cabrio » Mr Michael Buckley (GB) - Ferrari 355 (Classic) (+ £10k Cash) » Mr Nico Draghi (GB) - Porsche Cayenne Diesel » Mr Robert Cunningham (GB) - Audi R8 V10 Spyder (+ £10k Cash) » Mr Abtar Bangar (GB) - Porsche Panamera » Mr Anthony Bickle (GB) - Porsche Cayman GT4 (+ £10k Cash) » Mr Bayan Golmohamad (GB) - Range Rover LWB Autobiography (+ £10k Cash) » Mr Dale Martin (GB) - Porsche Cayman GT4 » Mr David Prime Inteligence (GB) - Aston Martin Vantage S » Mr Donald Mcgrath (GB) - Porsche Cayman GT4 » Mr Gaurav Obhrai (GB) - Porsche Panamera (+ £10k Cash) » Mr Guy Longmore (GB) - Porsche Cayman GT4 (+ £10k Cash) » Mr Haider Almahmoodi (GB) - Porsche Cayman GT4 (+ £10k Cash) » Mr Ian Le Tissier (GB) - Porsche Cayman GT4 (+ £10k Cash) » Mr Mohammad Alshatti (KW) - Audi R8 V8 Coupe » Mr Paul Fletcher (GB) - Porsche Cayman GT4 » Mr Philip Kimble (GB) - Porsche Boxster GTS » Mr Roy Cattanach (GB) - Porsche Cayman GT4 » Mrs Shabana Anjum Zaman (GB) - Bentley Continental GT V8 S (+ £10k Cash)

Some pics of a Carmine Red car here: http://www.dpccars.com/gallery/index.php/Porsche-Cayman-GT4-spotted-in-the-wild Makes a change from yellow and blue, although I still prefer the latter. Interesting to note the rear diffuser details in these pics - it extends beyond the lower edge of the rear PU. Looks a bit odd to me. Jeff

I doubt any one will win a GT4, be an interesting follow up though.

Oh ye of little faith......[:D] FWIW, I think they probably will come up with a GT4 for him as BOTB has been going for many a long year and probably wouldn't want the bad press of not coming up with the goods. Maybe the new owner, if he indeed gets it, will pay us a visit on here!

Oh ye of great faith......... They have a 991 GT3 as well which is a bit rich as they are no longer being produced....

I reported them to the ASA but got back that vid that he won one I did say that's not a GT4 but it went no further. I also emailed bob but got this "" "I can confirm that once the winner has been contacted and should they decide to take the car we will then contact the dealerships to find out availability" so NO one is winning A GT4 or GT3 it's a scam to get sales. ! this was the final ASA email back "If the prize-winner is unhappy with the Cayman S as that was not what they promised, they would need to complain directly to us. " so every one can sell on a lie it seems, and no action taken ! I stated it like winning a date off natalie portman but then you get a date and this person turns up I am quite unhappy that the ASA took no more action on misselling !!!

A bit ungracious to that lady MrD, but I take your point. However, there's probably a let-out clause somewhere in their T&Cs that nobody ever reads which enables them to offer an alternative car if the customer's choice isn't available. Jeff

A Cayman S is a good prize as is a date with Gemma, just not the prize you paid for ;-) n

This from their T and Cs During the course of a Dreamcar Competition, if due to circumstances beyond the Promoter's control, the Promoter is unable to provide the stated First Prize, the Promoter reserves the right to award a selection of substitute Left and Right Hand Drive cars of equal or greater value I guess that covers it as the GT4 being sold out is beyond their control. [8|] However, if this is the case, as MrD says it's very unethical to show these cars as potential prizes - and shame on the ASA! With regards to the picture I will turn a blind Admin eye unless anyone objects particularly (there are other analogies that would have worked!)

T&Cs are at www.botb.com/Assets/aboutus/BOTBTC_281114.pdf "During the course of a Dreamcar Competition, if due to circumstances beyond the Promoter's control, the Promoter is unable to provide the stated First Prize, the Promoter reserves the right to award a selection of substitute Left and Right Hand Drive cars of equal or greater value." Not entirely watertight with GT3 I would have thought as they are allegedly offering something they cannot ever supply. Alan and I must qualify for the "Great Minds" competition

On PH web site the prize was shown and a lot of people bought a ticket based on that GT4 headline, it's miss selling to a very high degree imo. As I also posted you could win 6 LHD corsa's then if you go by that wording on what prize you win !!! "Promoter reserves the right to award a selection of substitute Left and Right Hand Drive cars of equal or greater value." it still stinks and won them a mega load of sales !!!

That may or not be the case, however we need to observe this forum's rules with regard to accusations, please (3.1.2, to be precise) and I think it's best now to get back to the OT.
