Exhausts for the (northern) boys!

I was always lead to believe that "you will only get out what you put in" [8|]. Meaning, you may well have a 6" exhaust system
on your car but, if there is a 2.5" restriction in line somewhere, that puts the kybosh on that little plan [8|].

I think the kkk turbo outlet is 56mm kkk housing create a lot off back pressure compered to other housing and stock turbo running 1.2 will all ready be hard worked and creating heat. So in theory the 3" turbo pipe should help. However fab speed make no power claims or upgrade befenfits from there elbow on stock turbo.

The issue is a 3" flange is to large to mount to the stock size pipe. Do you need a 3" discharge? Iv read the 1st 12" from the turbo that matters most so going larger after may not gain as much as going larger right off the turbo.

Problem is if you do change the turbo will you stick to kkk hybrid? Change turbo will effect everything else. And a custom discharge pipe will be need.

Seems the best group solution would be 3" system reducing to fit stock discharge pipe. That reduction would need replacing with the custom discharge pipe to suit each individual needs. Change the turbo discharge pipe you have to pull the turbo so most won't get changed till your in that area anyway

For S2 owners who fancy getting in on the act, same story - Stuart'll need a car to work on as he doesn't have a jig to hand (non cat manifold back system). Costs less than the turbo one too [:D]

Anyone want a shiny new exhaust for their S2 (so I can get one as well)?

Righto - I'm going for a 3" all the way back and that tapers down to the stock down pipe size. If and when I pull the turbo in the future (ball bearing upgrade and hybrid while you're in there perhaps) then I'll change the elbow and get the mounting flange modified to fit accordingly. Obviously I have the benefit of being 10mins up the road though.

I'll book it in the next couple of weeks hopefully.

One silencer or two? Iv got 2 with waste gate tie in in between. Back back only may lead to motor way drown

Yes indeed, Fabspeed call the Turbo elbow a "Turbo outlet top pipe" [8|]. It is on their website and, measures 2.75".
Oh, and it cost's $300, which I don't think is too bad. They describe it as a "more solid/robust design" over the original.
Again, fair one, I think it looks nice, all shiny in Stainless Steel. Never-the-less, it's NOT FCUKING 3" [], which is what I'm
after. As the engine is getting pulled this time, and a hybrid, uprated ball bearing Turbo is being sourced, I suppose I will be able
to get a bespoke one made in Titanium and, do any body mods required to make it fit [8D][8D][8D].........[:D].

I'm going for one silencer at the back only Terry, none of this 88dB nonsense anymore [:D]

Pete - Hayward and Scott do a 3" elbow for ÂŁ360 or I'm sure that AAS could make one up if they had one to work from as mentioned above by sgl1966

Gaywood and Scott didn't fit or had fitment Issues. Pete go for an off the shelf turbo rather then hybrid.

I have the Hayward and Scott 3" downpipe on mine - the fit is fine.

I did cut the bracket off it to make life easier though.

Hello guys was there any take up or progress with this S2 exhaust? Could be interested for mine but would probably fit it myself rather than drive all the way up there.

Same question from me! Unless someone closer who wants one and can provide a car so they can make up a jig and fab several at once, I'll be sticking with the stock exhaust.

I'm going to book in this week, I'll speak to him about the different options people have asked about and try to get a handle on pricing for them.

I'll also ask how many would need to be ordered to make a jig worthwhile.

Great, thank you very much.

I have the janspeed development system on my coupe, they found more power with a front box in place and it is more trackday friendly. (that was with a fairly standard 250 car - exhaust and boost enhancer). I think it was around 95dB

I'm booking in this week so will ask. Would've been earlier but been unwell for the past 6 weeks.

I'll update when I get an answer.

Booked my exhaust just now.

The good news is that they've had a couple of other enquiries for N/A and Turbo so will need my car for 2 days as they will make a Jig for anyone else wanting one. They'll do the same for the N/A car too. Stuart has said that if someone supplies an outlet pipe he will cost up making a jig and making them in 3" but he won't fit them as he doesn't want to be involved in modifying the chassis to fit them.

The bad news is that the next available date is the 3rd of March, told you they were busy. Some amazing stuff in there being worked on, 70's Camaros, Hot Rods, etc.

As an aside they're now official distributors of Royal Purple oil too.
