Exhausts for the (northern) boys!

Dropped the car off this afternoon and went through everything with Stuart as they're putting a boss in for my AFR sensor and fitting that too. Chose a nice oval slash cut tip, similar to the standard one but bigger :)

I've done a video of my stock exhaust to compare and contrast.

Called in earlier, car was still up on the ramps but most of the exhaust looked done, they were busy on the bench making a second one to use as a jig for future orders. Didn't get up close as it was in the middle of a busy workshop so no pics yet but it looks good, very good.

They won't carry them as a stock item but will make them to order with a 4-5 week lead time. Fingers crossed I'm picking it up tonight so will have pics and confirmed pricing then.

Oh wow! Amazing quality, lovely deep burble but not intrusive on the motorway - how it should've always sounded.

Video tomorrow but in the meantime:

Looks great. Good that there's choice off a second silencer.

Do you get drone on the motorway at 70? Iv got 2 silencer and happy there's no noise till requested from the go pedal

Yup - rear hanger is far better than the original. There's a bung for my Wideband in too.

No drone on the motorway, I'm heading down to Cadwell Park on Sunday so that will be the real motorway test. Stuart said that the S2 needs a centre silencer and smaller backbox otherwise it sounds harsh, the Turbo doesn't need a centre silencer as it's much quiter anyway.

New fuel pump being fitted tomorrow and then on the dyno on Friday to get my EBC setup too :)

Excuse my squeaky clutch release bearing and the fact that my tailpipe fell off so I had a bit of stainless welded on, but here is the before:

And here's the aural joy of the new pipe, get those speakers turned up:

And when it's under load on the dyno:

AAS have made a jig so that they can make more to order, the lead time will be approximately 4-5 weeks at a cost of £550. I assume that includes fitting if you're local-ish and postage would be on top - personally I'd get them to fit it and make a day of it up in Newcastle, they're only 10 minutes out of the city centre.

The person to speak to is Stuart, the website is http://www.aas-exhausts.co.uk email is info@aas-exhausts.co.uk and the phone number is 0191 2673718

The exhaust is T304 mandrel bent stainless with a lifetime warranty but they also do Inconel and Titanium if you're feeling flush!

No affiliation other than a very happy customer who was referred there from lots of other very happy customers!

Looks and sounds really nice David. [8D]

Was the dyno run for tuning or just to get a better sound recording? Have you noticed any quicker spooling with the 3 inch?

The dyno run was to get my Apexi AVC-R setup and verify my AFR setup was accurate (it is) after fitting bigger injectors.

The dyno owner had to get his 1300BHP (yes, 1300!!!) Nissan GTR off the rollers first - now that sounded evil.

Yup.

According to JMG the standard exhaust is only a restriction at 350bhp. This will help breathing without losing all your backpressure from 250bhp up to ???

I've made the enquiry, anyone else thinking of the Turbo exhaust? just might be quicker if they bang out a few id guess.

Good stuff Ian.

AAS tend to get busier over the race season so the lead time may increase as the sunshine does - Stuart manages a tight diary though so if he says it'll be done for a certain date then it will be.
