Exhausts for the (northern) boys!

ORIGINAL: Eldavo

Good stuff Ian.

AAS tend to get busier over the race season so the lead time may increase as the sunshine does - Stuart manages a tight diary though so if he says it'll be done for a certain date then it will be.

He does indeed.. he is yet to reply [:(]

Anyone still organising a group buy on these exhausts ?

I've been in touch there's a 4/5 weeks wait on them and cost is £550 plus £24 if you wanted it delivered. life time warranty applies but to original purchaser (non transferable).

PM me if you are interested as I'm sure they'll get cracking quicker is its more than 1 order. Price wise I think its well priced for the quality already tbh.

Ian

Yup - he was pretty firm on the price and he said that a group buy would make him build them together a bit quicker but there wouldn't be any reduction in the price.

Davo as far as you know there's no difference to a 220 to 250 standard exhaust and the fitment will be the same?

Ian

Still a very reasonable price, but before commiting to buy, does anyone think the increase in exhaust note would take it above the 98db required by alot of track days ? I have no experience with decibel levels and do not want to shoot myself in the foot.

No I don't find it drones on the motorway, you can hear it a bit but nothing annoying or encroaching. I have no sound insulation under the carpets either.

Hi Ian, placed my order this morning with Stuart, no change in the 4/5 week delivery time. I purchased a Fabspeed downpipe to compliment the exhaust so look forward to the results.
Thanks to Eldavo for the initial information.

SGL - I took him in your downpipe and he said he could make one (can't remember the exact price but pretty sure it's mentioned earlier in the thread). If your order hasn't shipped yet then I can get Stuart to make one up?

Best to double check the end is 3" to match your downpipe though as mine nips in to 2.75" to match the factory part. Also ensure that you let him know which tail trim you want otherwise he'll leave it as plain pipe so that there is enough to cut down and fix your own choice on.

Do I need a down pipe to?

Regarding tail pipe trim ill spec same as you :D

I have the standard 2.75" down pipe - I'll upgrade to a 3" one when/if I fit a turbo with a 3" inlet and outlet.

Many thanks.. that helps. Also if I just tell the ASS guys I want same as you that's fine? Comes complete with tail pipe etc..?

I already have the fabspeed downpipe as I was unsure if they were going to be able to make this or not and it had good feedback from jmg among others. Although it is often mentioned as a 3" pipe it is not and slightly narrower, like the standered pipe with the inner wall removed, so will bolt up to stock fittings.
I will confirm the rear pipe with them although a straight section of pipe sticking out the back is tempting for a track car, but will probably ask for a straight copy of yours.

Exhaust turned up today. Looks great and to my untrained eye the welds are at least as good , if not better than the fabspeed down pipe. Aiming to get it fitted in a week or two as well as an unplanned engine swap ! For the money £574, it is hard to beat.

It will be a big turbo if it has a 3" turbine outlet. I'd recommend wrapping any single skin discharge pipe to protect the AOS from the heat, I suspect that's why Porsche made it double skinned.
