Where do they fit the control switch?

The control switch is just like a key fob, so you can put it where you want. if you have the smoking package then it fits nicely in there if you take the removable ashtray out. Without the smoking package it can just sit in the coin tray. Or you could just have it on the key ring?

Thank you

I'll need to drive it some more (a lot more lol) but initial feel is just wonderful.....and that engine is epic.

I had a massive grin when they pulled the cover back and I saw the car for the first time and that just got wider when I sat in it, started it and when I drove it. I'm smiling now thinking about it.

The manual box, for me, is already a hands down winner. I feel far more in control and in touch with the car and realised how much I've missed driving a manual since my last 3 sports cars have been auto.

I presume your old car is the black one that's just popped up on A/T OPC Cardiff. Looks a lovely car, but bet your glad not to have to keep black paint looking perfect!

Don’t bother pointing the headlight washers black as they already come that way with PDLS but in matte rather than gloss. I’m also not a lover of the painted rollover bars but if you like them then go for it.

Whichever colour combo you choose you won’t go wrong.

Dan.

When I put my deposit down I had exactly the same thoughts !

The OPC had a 911, a Targa and a GTS convertible in Shark Blue and I came away thinking that was the colour for me and that would be my colour choice when I came to build spec time.

Now I've got my GT Silver however, the colour makes the car look really sleek and low and I absolutely love it with the black wheels (which have really grown on me - especially with the Michelins that are fitted).

I also had the car ceramic coated and the finish and shine is stunning and it really sets it off against the matt wheels.

So for now, I've discounted SB and gone back to my original choices but as you say, we've got 18 months to decide :)

The other thing to mention is that my car came with the stock Porsche entertainment system and I am very impressed with the sound. If I were ordering tomorrow, I wouldn't go for the upgrade and I'd use that cash for something else.....

I love GT Silver, my current 981 is that colour with red roof and agree it's stunning, but just maybe time (18 months) for a change.

I know you shouldn't spec for resale, but it does seem that Bose is one option which is a must when it comes to maximising resale price.

Thanks Dan, I thought the washers came in silver as standard, so that's a few quid saves as I really wanted them matt black and agree with this colour configuration the standard rollover bars look better.

Just had update from my OPC that Bose is no longer available on any model range

if you look on the configurator on 718 there is a circle with a cross in meaning not available

after 20 months of waiting I feel I will never get my dream spec car

Not having Bose is no great loss. Bose (like most Bose products) is pretty poor, and not good value for money. It's not sour grapes, I have Bose in my car and it's a bit crap really.

I hope that you do get your car eventually; once you're driving it all thoughts of Bose or no Bose and other missing trinkets will just disappear.

Well said - I had Bose on the 981 and I think the Porsche system in my new car sounds better....

Wollemi - Did you find the Cargraphic controller worthwhile then? The standard exhaust seemed really flat without it in the mid-range.

And if you have any pics of your Av Green GTS you’d be happy to share, I‘d be really grateful as I’ve only ever seen a handful of cars in that shade; mostly 911s or Caymans too. Many thanks
I thought that the Cargraphic controller was definitely worth, especially when you are pressing on, having the exhaust sound throughout the rev range rather sound# far more natural, and just more enjoyable to drive. Its good that’s it switchable, if you are driving sedately then it‘s a less pleasant sound in that 2,000 - 3,800 range, so I don’t have the controller active all the time. But when you want it it works very well.

I’m happy to share photos but Aventurine Green is one of those colours that looks different in photos to real life. It looks different in different lighting too.

I did look fabulous, really classic and classy, but far more interesting than a plain grey. I never had anything but favourable comments.

I'm tempted by the Cargraphic controller but the thought of taking the interior apart gives me goose bumps

Dan, for the cost of an hours labour at a top notch independent like RPM in Knaresborough it’s not worth trying to fit it yourself. They can easily fit it whilst you wait too.

I'm puzzled re the comments on the Cargraphic controller. I understood that with the Porsche PSE activated the exhaust valves are open on start up, but then close from 1000 - 4000rpm, when they then open again, and that the Cargraphic system enabled the valves to be kept open all the time. However if it's "a less pleasant sound in that 2000-3800rrm range, so I don't have the controller active all of the time" " - i.e in most of the range where the PSE would have the valves closed anyway, I struggle to see what the advantage of it is. Not trying to be picky or awkward, I would really like to fit something that boost the aural pleasure so need to understand better what Cargraphic really offers.

Sorry to hear about the lack of Bose, maybe by the time you get to build status it will be back available. As others have said not a massive loss apart from resale desirability. I had the standard Porsche system in the first Macan and now the Bose in my GTS and I can't really tell the difference in something as quiet as the Macan, so in a Boxster negligible.

I am hoping by the time my 18+ months are up, Putin will have been either defeated or removed from power and supply chains get back to normal so that my desired spec can be achieved🤞

Is that because the exhaust is so much quieter in the 718 that you can actually hear the music, rather than the glorious aural 981 sounds🤪

Im sorry if I was unclear; the exhaust sounds great using the Cargraphic controller to keep the valves open in the 2-3,800rpm range when you are driving enthusiastically and using a bit of throttle. Well worth having in these situations, a big improvement over standard PSE.

The sound is less great in that range when travelling at a steady speed on a light throttle, eg motorway. In those situations it is good to have the option to revert to standard operation at the touch of a button. I hope that's helpful.

I think this will be the colour combination I will finalise on.

Nice, however...... how about silver wheels? Makes them stand out rather than disappearing in the wheel arches. If you don't want silver, try satin platinum.

Agree! Shark blue is not that bright a colour and needs some brightness around it. Black wheel make it look gloomy. In my opinion.
