Just a update, after waiting 21 months I have a allocation for my BGTS spec locked mid Feb, with delivery hopefully end of April. just praying it all goes ok with no more shortages my final spec is PPI4N964
Great news, so pleased for you after such a long wait and anxiety over specification shortages.

Looks lovely, glad you have managed to get the LEDs. If Bose had been available would you still have gone for the Burmeister system?

Hope my wait is less than 21 months😱

I spoke to my dealer and he said that they were anticipating more cars being allocated to the UK in 2023 due to China market slowing dramatically and not exporting to Russia🤞

Their salesmen have had their targets increased in line with this.

Very nice Crayon demonstrator at OPC Norwich came up yesterday, excellent spec and sold within hours, whereas the PTS Acid Green at Cambridge has come back in the market.

I like the colour but couldn't live with it long term.

I just checked out your spec - it’s lovely and pretty much what I’d gone for when I played around on the configurator except I chose a manual and having heard the standard ICE, decided i won‘t need the upgrade.

Thanks for the great support, I will have the Bose if it comes back on before lock in. While at the OPC yesterday I sat in a car with Bermester and was very impressed with sound quality and function. I had always planned to upgrade over the standard system which my previous 981 had which I found very week and tiny, and changed all the speakers myself to high quality ones which improved things. Obviously not wanting to do this to a new car

Really pleased for you Glenn, I hope it all goes smoothly now and I look forward to seeing you with the new car in the spring.

We are glad you finally have a car on the horizon Glenn and admire your persistence and patience.

Bit of a revival of a seemingly age old question now. Has anyone recently tried ordering a GTS? Any idea on what wait times are now? Very little PTS GTS cars out there. Hoping to add to the mix... :)

Hi

i put a deposit down last November, and my latest update is that the OPC are estimating end of this year for a build slot.

I bought myself a GTS in the meantime so I’m not in a rush but having been told mid 2024, end of this year is a bonus. Another dealer gave me the same estimate ie end of this year….

A Viola PTS Boxster GTS4.0 popped up on Porsche’s website today at Burgess Hill:

https://finder.porsche.com/gb/en-GB/details/porsche-718-boxster-gts-40-preowned-6QGROW

There’s also an Acid Green for sale in Cambridge:

https://finder.porsche.com/gb/en-GB/details/porsche-718-boxster-gts-40-preowned-DVKZMK

Or an Artic Grey CGTS in East London:

https://finder.porsche.com/gb/en-GB/details/porsche-718-cayman-gts-40-new-QZ9LKZ

Just in case any of those were PTS considerations for you… I’d expect 12+ months if you were ordering now.

Interesting that your estimate has come forward, did they indicate how many in front of you in the queue?

My OPC has 8 in the queue before me I am also a November deposit and was originally quoted 3/24.

I have also placed another order with a different OPC, just to spread my chances.

both dealers said they had said 7 or 8 orders in front of mine and currently they were being allocated 1 build per month to date hence end of this year as an estimate for me :) ……

Have you gone with 2 dealers as well?

What you have been told is almost in line with what I have been told.

1 has 3 cars allocated 1st qtr the other 4 cars.

Apparently it's not quite as simple as 1 car per dealer per month as order dates are also factored in, so if a dealer has more/earlier orders they will get allocated before orders made at a later date, which is fair.

This has also been indicated on this forum.

Quite a few ex demos coming on the market now, I would have probably gone for Norwich's crayon PDK if I had been in the UK, whilst my heart said go for it, my head keeps saying wait, you will get a car allocated before they stop manufacture and it will be to my exact specification and no one else has driven it.

The Viola car has a nice spec, but for me the colour just doesn't work on the Boxster. It is just too dark and looses the definition/shape of the car. Also the black wheels seem to disappear. I think lighter colours work better on the 718 GTS.

I’ve not gone to 2 dealers, I just spoke to where I bought my current car (Cardiff) and my local OPC which is where my deposit is. Both said the same thing….

Seems that the log jams may be clearing :)

🤞🤞👍

Well having ordered a 4.0L GTS Boxster back in July 2021 I've just cancelled my offered March 2023 build slot, so next person in the queue is going to be very happy!

Care to share which OPC, on here or by PM...maybe worth a telephone call🤔
