I Think I Have Killed My Car!!!!

Last night coming back from Nottingham, I hit a very slippy patch (not sure if it was black ice, but it was cold enough!!) whilst coming off a roundabout, the back end went and when I eventually got grip, it snapped back the other way which sent me hurtling into the grass centrasl reservation sideways and into a lamp post, completely knocking it down.

For the grace of god, I was completely unscathed, but I think that is more than can be said for my S2 Cab!!

Be careful guys and drive safely, I have to see whether I can afford to carry on being a Porsche owner with the potential rise in insurance. Is there anyone else out there has had experience with a Carol Nash 6,000 mile policy and what happens to their premium after an "at fault" incident?

Take a look at the pictures guys and as I said before, please please please drive safely.

Im sat here feeling absolutely gutted for you.I too was out late last night in sheffield, sliding all over the place,to the point where Im considering storeing the car till next spring. Let us know how you get on with the repair/insurance.If I can help in any way, would be glad to do so.GOOD LUCK

Thanks for that.

I am absolutley gutted!!!! The Police were fantastic, they didn't treat me like a criminal, which is what I thought they would, they had to close the road, which must have annoyed a few people, so if anyone was inconvenienced in the wee small hours of this morning at the Field Head roundabout in Markfield, I appologise now.

NOOOO! I'm so sorry to see those pictures. Main thing is that your ok. I've been sliding around the past week to. keep us updated in the insurence side.

Oooh, sorry, main thing is you are OK, though it probably doesn't feel too much like that right now, hope the insurance company pays up,
Tony

God knows how I will get to Le Mans next year, but I will be there, whether it is the Pheonix risen from the ashes, or a new 944 or maybe even a 911, I will be there!!!

Oh my god....!!!!

That's awful........main thing being is your ok.

I have a S2 and looking at those photos it makes me feel so so sad for you.

Hope they sort out your claim to a speedy conclusion.

Regards
Richard

It's finally started to sink in now, as I said thanks guys, I will let you all know what happens.

Many thanks for your support.

Phil,
glad to hear your ok,what you done to that great motor? and after all that time/money you spent on it too[:(][:(] hope Carol Nash is kind to you,Let us know how you get on.
Helen and Larry.

They will write that off, but someone will put it back on the road.

Tough little car the 944, I stacked one at nearly 40 mph into a tree and totally stuffed it and walked out just a little shocked.

Whenever I see one at a junkyard mangled I always think of my old red S2, toughest little car out there I figure?

The Crow.

Phil,

Sorry to hear that M8. As with everyone above the importnant bit is that you are OK.

Is the front wheel on the back or has the rear suspension been damaged?

I've got to say that I think it will be written off too, but maybe that's for the best, so long as they value it realistically (something I will be especially interested in).

Yeah, looks like it will be too costly to repair.
Glad that you walked away unscathed - must have been a big moment. [X(]
Did you have an agreed value policy with Carol Nash?
All the very best.

Have you had the police check the surface on that roundabout, it may not be "your fault"? If its the one by the BP garage its slippery even in the dry.

Pete

Ditto all of the above.

I hope this cloud has a silver lining for you. Will P seemed to come out of the destruction of his baby with a smile, in the end. Perhaps you will be able to look back in few months with a simillar view.

Not wishing to appear as a vulture circling over head (although I have the appropriate nose) but please keep us posted on what you are going to do with the car as the interior looks in better nick than mine [;)]
