Life on the Dark Side

The folding buckets are really comfortable, but i went for the fixed version because doing a back to back comparison at the Silverstone day with Andreas the fixed one sat lower in the car,i am not short and with a helmet on i was unsure of how close i would be to the roof with the helmet on.The fixed buckets are great and suprisingly comfy, but had to move the seat belt buckle to the outside of the seat which was a bit of a faff.Your car looks lovely in blue[:)]

Sandy remember the Porsche supplied harness only comes in red but they are made by Scroth who supply the harness in 4 colours. I dont know why Porsche wont let you order the other thre colours. Clubsport spec includes one harness in red.

If I was ordering the car again I would have gone for the fixed buckets for reasons Mark explains . Unfortunately I missed the Andreas session at Silverstone which was a pity

I actually did a comparison at Silverstone too, but felt the LW buckets were just a bit of a tighter fit on the shoulder, and not quite as comfortable for me at least.
They did give more legroom, but this was on a car without a cage, with a cage in place I think they'd be much the same as the folding ones.
Bob, yes it does seem strange you can't spec the harness colour, tailored to the individual's needs I was once told !!

On another note I originally went for comfort spec with the leather steering wheel, but decided to change to Alantara with clubsport. Dealer asked today if I wanted the newly available RS type for an extra £500, can't believe even Porsche would charge this price for effectively a yellow band on the top. He assured me it was a bit thicker and looked different from the standard RS one but haven't seen a picture yet, for £500 upgrade it would have to be something pretty special - wouldn't it ??

Cheers,
Sandy

Well got the new car a couple of weeks ago and 'touch wood' I can't pick a fault with it after 700 miles.
It seems to feel a bit more 'alive' than my gen 1 car, steering feels a little better and I can feel the extra power. Glad I went for the CS option despite losing a little legroom, no real problem there.
Got the thicker RS steering wheel which feels good, and also did a colour mod to the harness slots in the seats to brighten up the interior a bit, same colour as the wheels.
Anyway off out for another blast !!
Cheers, Sandy

Congrats Sandy, a great looking car.[:D] I like the colour coding of the harness slots in the seat backs-are the wheels standard colour or painted silver as a no cost option? I've a Sept build slot so will have to finalise my spec before much longer. I too am going for the club sport with folding buckets, but not sure on colour. I do fancy riviera blue but it's a very expensive special option, which if I go white or red the difference will go a big way towards pccb's. Did you go for the front lift system? Thanks for the photos and look forward to your further comments. Regards, Mike.

Cheers guys.

I did go for the lift system which works well, and I can now get the car out the garage without scraping the splitter unlike the last car. I think you can get the seat harness slots painted at the factory but only in the body colour, I did it myself in titanium to match my standard wheel colour.
Another bonus is that the telephone system seems to work properly now, ie people can actually hear you ok when on the move.
Anyway can't think of anything I'd change to be honest, very impressed with the car.

Sandy

Well done Sandy looks very nice. One word of warning the finish on the wheels which is like a plastic coating is very soft and easily damaged so be very careful if you take them off. I have stone chips on my mine which is a first for me. Hope to see you at Silverstone at the end of the month

Cheers Bob, will keep an eye on them. Won't make Silverstone unfortunately due to work schedule, maybe another time.
