Where abouts are you ?

Wimbledon. As discussed every 964RS on the planet seems to be north of Watford although I've had a PM offering to show me one very local which I'm going to try and do, although sadly it was sold just last week...

Ian

I was thinking just so you could see the differences --- but I am of course, Oop North !

I think you should know that only the very best 964RS owners have Wimbledon connections! You are clearly a man of class and therefore you should own one of these fine cars!

(damn, you are making me homesick[:(])

Soon every 964RS will be East of Watford - in Germany. If you can buy right now you should. If the pound continues to take a hiding against the Euro they will be coming across with car transporters to take them back.

Ian,
I have pm'ed you about hte yellow car, also I think Jon Billin's car was up for sale recently, I know that he bought his from H&S with help from Paul McLean about the same time as me and that it had a clean bill of health from Paul (GT Classics).

Hope this helps,
Kevin.

Hi Kevin,
Yes my car was up for sale and I offered Ian the chance to have a look over it before it heads back to Germany soon to be seen on the H&S website [:(] Just waiting for Tom to pick it up. Hope to be able to buy one again in the future but need the cash at present for other projects....
Hope you are enjoying your car!
Jon

Hey I Mcg . Dejavu allover again as Dellboy says - bought Mk1 GT3 in early 04 , having had 911s , Griff and italian stuff in between . Have you driven an RS yet ? Well I did after 18/12 with the 3 and had forgotten what a giggle a small, lithe car was. Both are great , I couldnt afford a pair but the RS was a must have. Bottom line to me was that the 3 drove fantastically well, but I drove the RS.

Hi Ian , I think you've picked the wrong part of the year to satisfy your lust (!) .....most 964RS owners who use their car at trackdays have committed to a season of fun and thrills by now. In any event as Des has been talking the price up for the last 3 years you may not find it cheaper than your Mk1 GT3 in purchase cost- which may not be an issue for you. 6 years ago the cars cost 24-32k for LHD and about 5k more for RHD , and they were all younger and less on the clock as well.
There will be more available after Nov , dont think prices likely to noticeably inflate in the six months till then. Pistonheads is the biggest forum and most likely place for enthusiasts to advertise their cars. North of England is a bastion of common sense and excellent independent garages who know their stuff . My car was previously owned by a southerner but fettled by Tech9 , now routinely serviced by Ninemeister. Tell us more about your reasons for buying and how you intend to use it 'if its going to a good home' [;)]

8 Years please Oldtimer

And by the way there is a Ferrari Yellow (Kasbridge) car just come on the market which is advertised here .... WELL WORTH A LOOK[:)]

Yes Jon's and Kevin's cars are very nice examples. I'm sure Kevins is Hell Gelb though (Light Yellow), not Ferrari Yellow. Regards, Paul.

Edited: Oops. Just checked and realised it is Ferrari Yellow. Sold the Hell Gelb car to someone else. Sorry Kevin.

Does anyone know anything of the "ferrari yellow" one on pistonheads?

Also is the driving experience of clubsports worth the extra pain and cost - since I want a 100% track car maybe it is - but I still have to get there and Donnington for example is typically a three hour drive from here - even in the GT3 it's a bit tedious. Maybe it's time for a trailer...

Dumb question: does the clubsport have inertial seatbelts - I assume not - if not, is it road legal in the UK - is it insurable?

(by the way contrary to the sig I have been a PCGB member for years)

It's advertised on this Forum "Thinking of selling" lovely car.....

Hi Paul, good cahnce to ask you while you are on here as to your impressions of the current market?

The market had been very quiet. So much so that some people thought I'd stopped trading. Technically speaking I guess I had. Wasn't selling anything.

I guess people were holding back to see what was happening, but I'm pleased to say that the phone is ringing and email flowing in. I have real buyers looking.

No that's a different one because I spoke with Kevin about the pistonheads one before his was for sale. They are both Ferrari Yellow.

At the risk of jumping the gun I should say that I'm days away from acquiring a Maritime Blue Clubsport so thanks to all those that offered help or advice - official announcement will follow in due course if it passes the MOT!

Regards,

Ian

Will you be bringing this car up to Donington for us to see Ian? Would be a great opportunity for you to "get to know" the car!

Too much input --- Paul, 'great to see you back.

Ian, I'll show you mine if you'll show me yours --- and I will be at Donnngton !

(Good luck !!)

Be interesting to see what the Clubsport 64 population is in the UK.
